I oppose all anti-Hindu laws, exhorts Jagadguru

Mumbai: Jagadguru Sree Shankaracharya Swami Jayendra Saraswati from Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth said that He condemns all anti-religion laws and He would personally try for annulment of all such laws. A delegation met Swamiji under the leadership of Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the Spokesperson of HJS for the State of Maharashtra. Shri. Shinde explained to Him about the two Acts proposed to be passed by the State Government of Maharashtra on eradication of Black Magic and taking over management of all temples in the State. He also briefed Swamiji on the agitations started by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS).

As His close disciple started introduction of members of the delegation, Swamiji said that He was well aware of the activities of HJS and asked whether all activities were going on smoothly. Shri. Shinde informed Swamiji about Govt’s ploy to bring in the eradication of Black Magic Act so that it can take action against Hindus following rituals and traditions as prescribed in Hindu Dharma. He said that the Govt. can even arrest religious leaders under the said Act. Shri. Shinde also informed Swamiji about the proposed Act on taking over all temples belonging to Hindus, Jains and Parsis to get hold of all the funds. Henceforth, the Govt. and not the devotees will have control over the temples.
