Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale’s message for Gurupurnima (2020)

Perform spiritual practice to survive the adverse times !

(Paratpar Guru) Dr. Jayant Athavale

Gurupournima is the day to gratefully remember the glorious tradition bestowed upon Sanatan Sanstha culture. Just as it is the Guru’s mission to guide society for spiritual progress, it is also the mission of the Guru tradition to guide society as per the prevailing times.

Currently, the entire world including India is passing through a perilous period. In this period, the country has had to face many perils such as floods, riots, pandemic, economic slowdown.

The period from 2020 to 2023 will be dreadful not only for India but for the entire world. During this period, the common people will have to face economic slowdown, civil war, war on the borders, war on the earth and natural calamities. In such adverse times, it will be a great challenge to survive and lead a bearable life.

In Shrimadbhagawadgeeta, Bhagawan says – ‘। न मे भक्‍तः प्रणश्‍यति ।’ (Na me Bhaktaha Pranashyati), meaning, ‘No devotee of mine will ever perish’. Since common people do not perform spiritual practice, the dreadful times will witness vast loss of life. However, God Himself protects the devotees who perform spiritual practice. To survive the ongoing adverse times, everyone needs to perform spiritual practice

The Guru is active not only in a physical form, but also in the Principle form. Those who perform spiritual practice obtain the Guru’s grace in His physical form directly or the grace of the Guru Principle indirectly. By starting on spiritual practice, everyone will be able to experience the grace of the Guru Principle. Performing spiritual practice is necessary not only to survive the adverse times, but also to get liberated from the cycles of birth and death.

I pray unto Holy feet of my Guru Saint Bhaktaraj Maharaj that may He bestow upon all of you a virtuous intellect to perform spiritual practice from this Gurupournima itself.
