A phone call was received by Shri. Shivaji Vatkar and Shri. Madhav Deshpande, members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) asking them to report to the Mumbra police station. Police were, however, not ready to give any reason for the same.
HJS has been strongly undertaking its campaign to protect the Khadkvasla reservoir. In the same way Pune police were to undertake a drive for protecting the water reservoir at Khadkvasla from those who play Holi and later have bath in the water reservoir. The ‘Warkari Mahamandal’ had recently organised a ‘Bhakti-Shakti sangam sohola’ i.e. ‘confluence of devotion & power’ at Satara, Maharashtra. In Pune, on the Senapati Bapat Road, the UTI bank exhibited paintings of the controversial, Hindu hater artist M.F. Hussain. Several Hindus joined hands with the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti to vehemently protest against this and finally compelled the bank to close down the exhibition. Read more »
