Shani Shingnapur issue : Shiv Sena holds press conference

Nagar (Maharashtra) : On 26th January, the so-called pro (or re?) progressive atheist women are planning to break age-old traditions followed at Shani Shingnapur and try to climb the temple sanctum of Shanidev. This act is completely wrong and it is only a public stunt of these women. We oppose such atheist acts and if they do not stop such things, Shiv Sena will give an apt reply to the atheist women, in its own style.

On 26th January, women will be brought together by Shiv Sena from all over Maharashtra and foil the ploy of atheist women. The acts of atheist women can create law and order problem as their act would hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. Police and local administration should stop these women from entering the District and impose ban on them for entering Nagar; instead of taking action after their reaching Shani Shingnapur. The above demand was made by Shiv Sena (Women Front)’s Sou. Sushama Padule and Sou. Asha Nimbalkar during press conference.

Shiv Sena’s former MLA Shri. Anil Rathod, its former mayor Shri. Bhagavanrao Phulsundar, its municipal councilors Shri. Anil Shinde, Sou. Kanta Bothe, Aruna Goyal etc. were present for the press conference held at Shiv Sena’s office.   

She said that women are given so much importance in Hindu Dharma compared to given in other religions. It is wrong to claim that women were given inferior treatment without understanding science behind religious traditions. Men and women from all castes and creed are allowed to have ‘darshan’ of Shri. Shanidev; so it is wrong to say that women are prohibited here; but few so-called progressive, atheist women and ‘Bhoomata Brigade’ are purposely attacking customs and traditions followed in Hindu Dharma. It will hurt religious sentiments of Shani-devotees and millions of Hindus. Even if cases are filed against us while protecting religious traditions, we shall not allow these women to climb temple-sanctum of Shanidev.

Demands made with police and administration

1. Atheist women should be stopped from entering district.
2. Activists of Bhoomata Brigade should be stopped from entering Nagar district.
