HJS forms group of Experts to discuss about NCERT books

Bangalore (Karnataka): HJS Bangalore unit organized the first of the debate in Bangalore to recommend improvements in NCERT history books and teach accurate History to children. Noted Historians Dr M Chidanand Murthy, Shri. Suryanath Kamath, Shri N.S Rajaram and Scholar Shatavadhani R Ganesh attended the debate on distortion of Indian history by NCERT books today at 11.00 Am to 1.00 pm at Bangalore.

HJS Karnataka spokesperson Shri. Mohan Gowda  briefly explained the efforts taken by HJS to create the awareness in society of this distorted History by creating more than 15  demonstrations of protest different parts of Karnataka, collecting signatures , meeting Education Minister, Chief Minister and Governor , Seminars and press conference then  Shri Shivananda Prabhu explained the purpose of meeting .

The debate started with reciting of Bhagavan Shrikrishna Sloka by Sou. Purnima Prabhu and Shri Chandru Moger and every Historian gave their studied opinion.

Debate discussion were as follows

Shri N .S. Rajaram said that America and England has rejected Aryan invasion theory as myth but still in our book we find the word Arya and DASSYU. The Harappan and Mohanjodaro civilization thrived on the banks of river Sarasvati but greatness of river Saraswti and Ganga not mentioned. In Aurangajeb time Jijiya tax being imposed on Hindus collected by force but purpose of JIjiya Tax not mentioned.
         
Shri. Suryanath Kamath said that in earlier times the NCERT books had removed the photographs of Shri. Veer Savarkar, Bhagat Singh as they it was increasing the number of pages.

“Noblest thoughts in the Vedas should be included in our history books” historian said Shri. Suryanath Kamath.

Everybody agreed that Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj should be included with inspiring narration of his victories in battles  and defeat of Moghuls.

Shri. Chidanand Murthy said Varnashram vyavastha should be properly explained, in the current books it is not explained properly it shows discrimination between Brahman and Shudra which should be changed. He also said great women warriors like Bellavadi Mallamma who formed “mahila defense force’ and fought with the enemies should be definitely included.

Further he added at time of Basavanna Manay Shudras excelled in Sanskruth but NCERT ignored that fact and he said well known saint Allamma Mahaprabhu, Akka Mahadevi, Kanaka Das and Purandara Das has totally ignored NCERT in history texts

Well known Scholar Shri. Shatavadhani Ganesh said it is wrong to not include the importance of Sanskrit language by saying that it was the language of Brahmins and in fact during the time of Shri. Basavanna, there were many Shudra Sanskrit scholars.

Everybody agreed to study and analyse the history books and go ahead with changing the NCERT books wherever objectionable matter is found and to suggest whatever fact to be added   or deleted in the current NCERT Books.

Everybody appreciated the efforts of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti to rewrite history.
