HJS collectively celebrates ‘Gudhi Padva’ all over Maharashtra

Mumbai: Owing to influence of Western culture and lack of ‘Dharma-shikshan’, presently people are involved in unscientific way of celebrating their festivals like New year on 1st January and raising ‘Table-top’ or ‘eco-friendly’ gudhis etc.

In this background, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) organized different drives to enlighten people on ‘why is it proper for Hindus to celebrate Chaitra Shuddha Pratipada as their New Year’, ‘how and why to perform ‘puja’ of ‘Gudhi’ as per the Science of Spirituality’, with the help of demonstration on manner of hoisting an ideal ‘Gudhi’, showing VCDs, arranging lectures, book- exhibitions etc. The campaign received very good response from Hindus.

Rallies were taken out at various places jointly by HJS and Sanatan Sanstha or with other pro-Hindu Organizations. In some cities, HJS joined rallies organized by other Hindu Organizations on the occasion. In all rallies, people were in the traditional clothes.

Pune District

In a huge rally taken out today at Chinchwad so also at Bhor and Ghodegon, there was demonstration on the manner in which ‘Gudhi’ is to be raised; even in the rally taken out on the eve of ‘Gudhi Padva’ in Pune city and at Kikavi, there were demonstrations on hoisting of Gudhi as per spiritual science.

Chinchwad

A procession was held on behalf of ‘Hindu Nava-varsha Swagat Samiti’ in which information was given about spiritual significance of ‘Gudhi Padva’ to people from Pimpri and Chinchwad. The procession began with performing ‘puja’ of Bharatmata and the ‘Dharma-dhvaja’. Thereafter, child-seekers of Sanatan Sanstha enlightened people with the help of banners and slogans, on why ‘Gudhi Padva’ should be celebrated as New Year. The procession ended in a meeting that was addressed by Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of HJS for the State.

Shri. Ramesh Shinde said, “This procession to welcome the New Year should not turn into a disaster. The whole universe celebrates Hindu New Year. Lord Macaulay had said that for destruction of a country, its language, culture and traditions need to be destroyed. We must remember this and try to protect Hindu Dharma, culture and traditions.”  

Junnar

‘ Naam-dindi (procession chanting God’s name)’ was organized jointly by Sanatan Sanstha and RSS in town of Junner. The procession started from Sree Ganapati temple with breaking of coconut by Shri. Ashokdada Khatri, a devout Hindu. The procession taken out from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. through the town was ended at Sree Vitthal Mandir in Bhagat Peth by singing ‘Vande Mataram’. Shri. Madhukar Kajale, a municipal councillor of Shiv Sena addressed the gathering. There were 70 participants in the procession.

Bhor, Dist. Pune

HJS hoisted a ‘Gudhi’ for the people at Shinde wadi. The program was attended by the local Sarpanch and Police Patil. A lecture was also organized at Shindewadi on the occasion of Gudhi Padva on the topic of ‘Sadhana and Dharmaacharan’. A program of ‘haldi-kumkum’ was held for women for exchange of New Year greetings. All participants were in traditional clothes.

Rajgurunagar, Dist. Pune

The ‘welcome rally’ started from Maruti temple after performing ‘puja’ of the ‘Dharma-dhvaja’ by HBP. Parhad Maharaj. There was chanting by Sree Rama’s name and child-seekers of Sanatan Sanstha recited ‘Mana che Shlok’. They also raised slogans. The rally ended in Hegadewar Chowk.

Navasinhgad

The ‘welcome rally’ organised by ‘Sanskrutik Kala Mancha’ started from Manik Baug at 8.00 a.m. with performance of ‘puja’ of Sree Rama by Shri. Arvind Phadake of RSS. A road-show was held by HJS on significance of celebrating New Year on Gudhi Padva. Importance of Gudhi Padva as per spiritual science was also explained. The picture of Sree Rama was kept in a chariot. Members of RSS, Mukta Mahila Manch, Veer Tanaji Mitra Mandal participated in the rally.

Mumbai District

Public demonstration on hoisting of ‘Gudhi’ was held on behalf of HJS at Kandivali, Parla, Khar, Boisar, Dahanu, Colaba, Girgaum and Lalbaug. Demonstrations on erecting ‘Gudhi’ were held at Lokhandwala Complex in Kandivali and at Nerul on behalf of Dharmajagruti Prabodhini and HJS in the welcome rallies. At ‘Sree Krushna Nagar’ in Borivali (East), demonstration was held on ideal manner of hoisting ‘Gudhi’.

In Bhandup (west), VCDs were shown at 2 places to enlighten people. At 5 places in Andheri, the topic was explained with the help of VCD. ‘Mahila Bachat Gat’ of Shiv Sena presented the topic on behalf of HJS at Sanpada. Shri. Vasant Pawar, a devout Hindu invited HJS at Nataraj Sports Committee, Kala Chowki to give lecture on the topic of ‘Sadhana, Nation and Dharma’. Book exhibitions were organized at Virar and Dahanu for creating awareness among people. In a rally at Parel, Dharma-shakti sena participated in the rally and its members presented demonstrations on the topic.

Parel, Mumbai

Rally was held for the 7th consecutive year in which various committees joined in along with HJS and Dharma-shakti Sena. The rally starting from Subhashnagar, Chinchpokli covered round route via Ganesh Galli, Lalbaug and ended in Subhashnagar. More than 14 ‘Chitra-rathas/ floats’ had joined the rally enlightening people on Nation and Dharma-jagruti.

Demonstrations on self-defence and how to face emergency situations calmly in routine life were held by Dharma-jagruti Sena (DJS) in which 15 Dharmaveers of Dharma-shakti sena participated. An appeal was being made on loudspeakers for people to join ‘Dharma-shakti Sena (DSS)’. Few persons registered their names with the members for joining DSS banners demanding ban on NCERT books were displayed in the rally.  45 members of HJS joined the rally.

Acharya Dharmendraji addressed the rally as it concluded. All men had worn saffron head gears. Looking at them, Acharya Dharmendraji said saffron flag should be hoisted on Parliament this year and not only on Parliament but also on Rawalpindi in future.

Thane District

Thane localites welcomed the New Year by taking out a rally and resolving to fight terrorism. Thousands of men and women joined the rally in traditional clothes. There were horses, ‘lazim’ groups and 40 ‘chitra-ratha’ of different spiritual, social and educational institutions in the rally that attracted people to the rally.

The rally started from Kopaneshwar Temple at 7.00 a.m. Many political parties joined the rally forgetting their differences for the moment. The rally was taken through areas like Talaopali, ‘Dagadi’ Shala, 3 Petrol pump, Hari Niwas, Naupada and Ram Maruti Road and ended at Talaopali. Sree Sampradaya’s ‘chitra-rath’ on terrorism won the first prize, Education Board of Thane Municipal Corporation won the second prize and Sangita’s Coaching Classes got the third prize.

There was also a ‘chitra-ratha’ of HJS appealing Hindus to follow their Dharma. Slogans were raised asking Hindus to unite and be prepared for protection of Dharma. HBP. Mhaske Maharaj joined the HJS ‘chitra-ratha’.

Dombivali

People of Dombivali gathered to welcome the New Year with great enthusiasm. This was the 11th year of rally. There were 70 ‘chitra-ratha / floats’ with different scenes created on the topics like terrorism, pollution, environment, biography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and many saints. The rally started from Bhagashala grounds at 7.15 a.m. with performance of puja of ‘Sree Ganesha palaki’ by Shankaracharya.

There was a float giving information on importance of chanting ‘Sree Gurudeva Datta’, how to increase ‘sattvikata’ of temples, manner of applying ‘kumkum’ for men and women. Shankaracharya Vidyanrusimhabharati of Karveer Peetha attended the rally. He said in his address that 31st December is a night of disaster. Most of the people used to celebrate that night; not only in Dombivali but all over the world, the Hindu New Year starting from Varsha-Pratipada is celebrated. ‘Sreerama Navaratri’ starts from Gudhi Padva which is conducive for spiritual practice. Sanatan Vaidik Hindu Dharma advocates worship of ‘Maryada Purush Sree Rama’. Maryada means limits, restriction or constraints; unless one knows one’s limits how can one realize the significance of limitlessness.

Seekers of Sanatan Sanstha from Dombivali, Kalyan, Badlapur etc. joined the rally carrying banners on various topics on ‘Dharma-shikshan’. They distributed pamphlets and special ‘Gudhi Padva’ issue of Dainik Sanatan Prabhat on celebration of New Year not on 1st January but on Gudhi Padva. In the rally at Kalyan (west), there were 60 floats and women on two-wheelers and on horses.

Panvel

A ‘Welcome rally’ was organized at Panvel to usher in the New Year. The route of the rally was decorated with ‘rangolis’ drawn at intervals. There were floats and people from all age groups adorning traditional clothes. Shri. Nilesh Padhye of HJS hoisted ‘Gudhi’ on the grounds of Middle Class Society, as per spiritual science followed with chanting of ‘Gayatri Mantra’ for 5 times before start of the rally. Flowers were offered to Sun God as the rally began. There were ladies groups with ‘lazim’, carrying ‘Dharma-dhvaja’ etc. In Santaji Jaganade Chowk, they halted and displayed their art. There were floats put up by different organizations like RSS, HJS etc.

On HJS float, child seekers were making appeal to people to stop blindly following western culture and instead, follow Hindu Dharma. Few members were distributing pamphlets giving details of celebrating ‘Gudhi Padva’ as per science. Shri. Vivek Patil, MLA of PWP joined the rally. The rally ended in a huge gathering which was addressed by Shri. Amit Oze, chief of ‘Nava-varsha Swagat Yatra Committee’, Shri. Koli of Shiv Sena, Shri. Balaram Patil, district secretary of PWP, Shri. Prashnat Thakur, mayor of Panvel.
