’35-40 devotees were held hostage by rioters at Ram Mandir in Nuh’

On 31st July, a Muslim mob in Nuh of Mewat, Haryana, attacked thousands of Hindu devotees attending the Jalabhishek Yatra on Shravan Somvar. OpIndia accessed several FIRs registered in the case. One of the FIR that was registered on the complaint of Adib Hussain who is a Sub Divisional Engineer PHES of Sub Division Tauru, it was revealed that 400-500 Islamist rioters held 35-40 devotees hostage at Ram Mandir in Ward No 9, Nuh. Hussain was stationed at Nuh Police Station as Duty Magistrate for Mewat Religious Jalabhishek Yatra.

Details of the FIR

FIR was registered on the complaint of Duty Magistrate Adib Hussain under Sections 148, 149, 186, 332, 307, 342 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 25 of the Arms Act against 700-800 unknown persons.

In his complaint, Hussain said he was with managing officer Ombir Singh when 700-800 rioters from the Muslim community started pelting stones and opened fire with illegal weapons on devotees and police personnel. The rioters burnt down the government and private vehicles.

At the time of the attack, Hussain and Singh were at Nuh bus stand. They were informed that hundreds of rioters attacked 35-40 devotees and held them hostage at Ram Mandir in Ward No 9. Hussain mentioned that the rioters were not letting the devotees leave the Ram Mandir premises. When they reached the location, 400-500 rioters with batons, sticks, stones and illegal weapons started shooting at them to kill them.

Hussain instructed Singh and other police officials to use appropriate force to disperse the rioters, which they succeeded. They rescued the devotees who were held hostage in the temple.

ADGP Mamata Singh recalls how police saved 3000 Hindus during Nuh violence

Mamata Singh led the police squad that saved the 2500–3000 Hindus who were trapped in a hostage situation at the Nalhar temple on the fateful day.

In a video shared on Twitter by India TV, the IPS officer recounted how the Islamists, armed with stones and sophisticated weapons, carried out the planned attack on the Hindu devotees who had reached there to take part in the Jalabhishek Yatra on the auspicious Monday of the Shravan month.

Hindu woman narrates horrific ordeal during Nuh violence

Many people have spoken up to describe the harrowing accounts of their experiences during the pandemonium. In a similar incident, a Hindu female survivor has come forward to recall the gut-wrenching episode in an interview.

The asinine ‘Monu Monu’ song by Ravish Kumar just gave a violent call to action

Right after violence broke out in Nuh with Hindus coming under attack, there was fake news being spread by Islamists that the violence broke out because Monu Manesar was present at the Shobha Yatra. OpIndia did a detailed fact check and found that many Islamists and Leftists were using an old video of Manesar to falsely claim that he was present at the Shobha Yatra.

Ravish Kumar – a veteran propagandist of television media turned newbie propagandist YouTuber. In his inimitably annoying and dishonest style, Ravish Kumar released a video on his YouTube channel where he attempted to shame Hindus into not essentially “doing something” about Monu Manesar. In a strange video, he claimed that Gurgaon was an affluent neighbourhood and those who live in high-rise buildings are closing their eyes to the dangers of people like Monu Manesar. Further, he released a song. Yes. A song. Called “Monu Monu”.

The use of the sentence, “Find out Monu, Flush out Monu” could, therefore, essentially mean that he is telling the rioters to either “find him” or ensure that they “draw him out” – both would essentially lead to him being hunted down. This would qualify as a direct call to action by Ravish Kumar.

Rioters shot Abhishek, slit his throat with sword and hit him with stones

FIR was registered on the complaint of Mahesh, cousin of Abhishek. In his complaint, Mahesh said 22-year-old Abhishek came to Nuh to participate in the religious procession Jalabhishek Braj Mandal Yatra Mewat Darsh from Panipal in a private bus.

Mahesh and his brother Abhishek were standing on one side when 8-10 rioters who were calling each other Adil, Arsad, Azharuddin, Shakeel, Junaid, Jawed, Rahul, Ahmed, Shoaib, Langda, Altaaf, Ameen and Inam etc, started shooting at them.

Junaid was wearing a white kurta and black check pants. Altaf was wearing a red shirt and blue lower. Ameen was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Inam was wearing a yellow kurta and a white pyjama. These four were shooting from the temple premises. All of them had illegal weapons and were asking each other to shoot whoever came in range.

One of the bullets hit his brother, and he fell into a pool of blood. One of the rioters, who was dark-skinned, had a sword in his hand. He attacked his brother with the sword and slit his throat. Mahesh mentioned if he sees the person who attacked Abhishek with the sword, he will recognise him.

Haryana Violence : 5 Dead in communal clashes in Nuh and Gurugram

Violence broke out in Haryana’s Nuh on Monday, 31st July 2023, during the Jalabhishek Yatra taken out by Hindu organisations. A total of 5 people, including 2 Home Guard personnel, were killed in this violence. Section 144 has been imposed in the area.

Vehicles were burnt and stones pelted at a Hindu shobha yatra, leading to clashes in Haryana’s Nuh, a Muslim-majority region.

Tensions escalated in Haryana’s Mewat region following an incident on Monday where stones were thrown at the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Religious Mewat Yatra. According to reports, individuals from a minority community attacked one of the vehicles in the religious procession. In response, the police intervened, using teargas shells to disperse the crowds and calling for reinforcements from neighbouring areas as both sides engaged in stone-throwing.

The situation created an atmosphere of anxiety in the area, leading to the restriction of internet services and the imposition of Section 144. Both the police and administration held meetings with prominent members of both communities to ensure peace, police said.

“In order to stop the spread of misinformation and rumours through various social media platforms, for facilitation and mobilisation of mobs of agitators who can cause serious loss of life and damage to public and private properties by indulging in arson or vandalism and other types of violent activities, I, Home Secretary, Haryana do hereby order the suspension of the mobile internet services in the jurisdiction of district Nuh in the state of Haryana and shall be in force w.e.f. 31.07.2023 (16:00hrs) to 02.08.2023 (23:59 hrs),” the order read.

According to the police, the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra encountered a roadblock near Khedla Mod in Nuh, where a group of young men halted the procession and started throwing stones at it. An official stated that “one or two cars” within the procession were set ablaze during the incident. Reports further mentioned that individuals participating in the yatra retaliated by pelting stones back at the youths who had obstructed their path.

Notably, an exclusive report published by The Pamphlet said that the violence witnessed during the Jalabhishek Yatra in Nuh on Monday, July 31, was planned. The report stated that the location of the rally was live-tweeted even as miscreants remained prepared to disturb communal harmony and stir violence.

The yatra, which was inaugurated earlier at Gurugram’s Civil Lines by BJP district president Gargi Kakkar, was accompanied by a police contingent. During the procession, some individuals sustained injuries, but the exact number was not immediately available, according to the police’s statement.

After the stone-pelting incident that occurred approximately 2 km from the temple, Nuh SHO Hukam Singh reassured that the situation in the area has stabilized. In response to the attack, workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad also retaliated by pelting stones back at the assailants.

A ‘mosque’ was allegedly set ablaze on Monday (July 31) night in Sushant Lok Phase-III in Sector 59 of Gurugram.

Identified as the Anjuman Imam Masjid, it was reportedly attacked by a group of 70-80 people. During the incident, the imam of the ‘mosque’ was allegedly killed while another person was injured. They were later rushed to the hospital.

It has now come to light that the said masjid is a disputed structure, the construction of which was stopped by the courts on several occasions. As per reports, the Anjuman Jama Masjid is built on ‘government-allocated land’ in the New Gurugram area.

According to the latest information, on August 1, 2023, 3 bodies have been recovered from the Nagina area of Haryana. Two of the bodies have not been identified. The third body is said to be of a 34-year-old man named Shakti Saini. Shakti Saini had a sweets shop in Nagina.

Rituraj, an office-bearer of the Haryana Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), told OpIndia that it is suspected that Shakti Saini was present at his shop during the attack. He was abducted from the shop and taken elsewhere and later killed and then the dead body was dumped at the same Badkali square around which his shop was located.
