‘Datta-Peetha and Islamization’ by Pramod Mutalik, Shriram Sena

Phalgun Shuklapaksha 8, Kaliyug Varsha 5114

First Hindu Convention was held during Jyeshtha Kru. Paksha Saptami to Dashami, Kali Yuga Varsha 5114 (10th to 14th June 2012) at Ramnathi, Goa. Many dignitaries guided people on various subjects and created awareness amongst them towards matters related to protection of ‘Rashtra (Nation)’ and Dharma. Shri. Pramod Mutalik of Shriram Sena spoke on the subject of ‘Governmentalization of temples (Government taking over management of temples)’ on the first day of this Convention which is being published below.

‘Sanatan Prabhat’ is fighting for Hindus

‘Namaskar! I have got this opportunity to speak on the subject ‘Governmentalization of temples’. I feel that there is one newspaper in the whole country which raises voice for ‘Hinduttva’, for Hindus, takes side of Hindus and that is ‘Sanatan Prabhat !’; besides, there is one TV channel which is run for Hindus and that is ‘Sri Shankara’. Name of this channel is now spreading everywhere. This channel is doing good work; but I feel that it should expand its activities’.

Pathetic condition of Hindus – No Centre for Hindus !

Various decisions are taken in Fanatics Prayer place or discussions take place; but there is no such Centre for Hindus

Prayer place is a centre of Fanatics. All discussions or decisions take in Prayer place is a centre for Christians Fanatic. If any decision needs to be taken or discussion to be held, everything happens in Prayer place. Even the final decision of who should be given vote, is also taken in Prayer place. As Fanatics have Prayer place and Christians Fanatic have Prayer place; Hindus have no such Centre.

There is need for Hindus to have a ‘Hindu Bhavan’ !

For this, we carried out one experiment; but we did not get much success. Hindus need to have ‘Hindu Bhavan’ which is devoid of differentiation based on caste, party, language etc. It should be open only for Hindus. If any discussion is to be held related to ‘Hinduttva’, any decision to be taken or any ‘fatwa’ to be issued, everything should be able to do from this place i.e. ‘Hindu Bhavan’! We have started work with this thought of ‘Hindu Bhavan’. You can also carry out experiment of ‘Hindu Bhavan’ in your States or regions.

Money collected in temples is getting deposited in Govt. Coffers and voice needs to be raised against it !

‘Governmentalization’ or ‘nationalization’ of temples going on presently is a very regrettable and unfortunate thing. Money collected from temples is used for construction of roads. Andhra Pradesh Government is taking away more than 50% funds collected in Tirupati Temple for running the State. Construction of sewage gutters, roads, water storage etc. is being done from money collected in Tirupati Temple. What we offer to God with so much of devotion, is getting collected in Government coffers. This should be opposed and Hindus from all over the country should unite and raise voice against the same. I feel that the Governments should be firmly told that ‘If you touch Hindus’ money, your hands will be burnt; your Government will be ousted !’

‘Datta-Peetha’ and ‘Islamization’

After Tipu Sultan coming to Bharat and taking over the State of Mysore, ‘Datta-Peetha’ was totally ‘Islamized’ !

There is a place called ‘Datta-Peetha’ about 30 kms away from Chikmangalur District in Karnataka where there is a mountain of 4000 feet height. There is a cave on this mountain. Dattatreya Swami did penance in this cave which is known as ‘Datta-Peetha’. When Tipu Sultan came to Bharat and took over the State of Mysore, that time only, ‘Islamization’ of ‘Datta-Peetha’ took place. Tipu Sultan attacked/ encroached upon this place and built tombs and converted this place into a grave-yard. There were things like ‘Deep-stambha’, ‘Kamandalu’, ‘Paaduka’ etc. which have been removed from there and its name was changed to ‘Baba Budan’ by constructing a tomb. ‘Urus’ is celebrated here in Baba’s name and everything was ‘Islamized’.

Legend of ‘Sanjeevani’ Mountain (of ‘Chandra-drona’)

It is believed that when Marutiraya was carrying ‘Sanjeevani’ Mountain, a piece of that mountain fell down at this place. Fruits and medicines available on ‘Sanjeevani’ Mountain are also found on this mountain. This is a proof about the mountain being a piece of ‘Sanjeevani’ mountain. It is found in history or ‘Puranas’ that the mountain is known as ‘Chandra-drona’ Mountain.

Whole Karnataka State was shaken with the movement undertaken against ‘Islamization’ of ‘Datta-Peetha’; cases filed during the riots which took place during that period and awareness was created everywhere towards the issue due to this movement

In the year 1998, activists from Chikmangalur informed us about ‘Islamization’ of this holy place of Hindus. Since then, we have started the movement against this issue. From the year 2004, we took up the movement in a better manner and shook up the whole Karnataka. We took out ‘Ratha-yatra’. Riots took place during this period and cases were filed. Twenty cases have been filed against me in connection with riots that took place during ‘Datta-Peetha’ movement. So far 80 such cases have been filed against me and soon I will make a century ! ‘Datta-Peetha’ movement created awareness in all villages and BJP won 70 seats in the following State Assembly elections; out of which 32 seats were won only due to ‘Datta-Peetha’ movement.

BJP and former CM Yediyurappa promise to declare ‘Datta-Peetha’ as a place of Hindus if elected; but they forget about it once gaining power

In the elections held in 2008 also, BJP was elected to power; that too due to the awareness created at the time of ‘Datta-Peetha’ movement. During election campaign held at Chikmangalur, BJP and former Chief Minister, Shri. Yediyurappa had said that ‘If BJP Government is formed in Karnataka, ‘Datta-Peetha’ would be declared as a place of Hindus.’ Unfortunately, they forgot about it once gaining power. They did not give ‘Datta-Peetha’ to Hindus. Yediturappa had to suffer for it and he had to resign from the post of CM. He was even sent behind bars.

‘NDA’ Govt. of Atalji coming to power due to ‘Ram-Mandir’; but forgetting ‘Rama’ once gaining power !

I tell in public meetings, “Yediyurappa and BJP Government promised to hand over ‘Datta-Peetha’ to Hindus; but they worked against Hindus.” Atalji’s Government did the same thing at the Centre. They came in power due to ‘Rama-Mandir’ and forgot ‘Rama’ once gaining power. They too got cursed and had to lose power.  Today, same thing has happened in Karnataka due to forgetting about ‘Datta-Peetha’.

Hindu organizations’ procession towards Datta Peetham

Movement and ‘Datta-Mala’ observance to be continued

We carried on the movement. We go to ‘Datta-Peetha’ twice in a year. Like the observance followed in Ayyappa Temple in Kerala, we observe ‘Datta-Mala’ for a week by wearing saffron clothes. Thousands of youth and devotees walk 20 kms to reach ‘Datta-Peetha’. Once in October, we observe ‘Datta-Mala’ and in December, at the time of ‘Datta-Jayanti’, we go there and stage agitation.

Going to Supreme Court against the decision of Karnataka High Court’s secular decision and sure about the result of ‘saffron hoisting on Datta-Peetha’

Unfortunately, Karnataka High Court passed one secular verdict in which it is stated that ‘Datta-Peetha’ is a holy place for Islam and Hindu followers.’ The Court has granted permission to Muslims to hold ‘Urus’ and to Hindus to celebrate ‘Datta-Jayanti’. We have gone to Supreme Court against that decision and are sure that the decision of Supreme Court would be in our favour. Datta-Peetha belongs to Hindus; therefore, saffron will be hoisted on ‘Datta-Peetha’ will be that decision. Namaskar!’
