VHP launches Hanumat Shakti Jagran (Ramjanma bhoomi)

Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh): Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) International president Ashok Singhal said they were resuming the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation across the country from August 16 under the banner of the ‘Hanuman Shakti Jagran Samithi’.Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Ashok Singhal said the VHP had decided to take up the agitation from grassroots level and create awareness among the people on the need to rebuild Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The campaign would be steered by saints and seers affiliated to the parishad and not by political leadership. "We are planning to reach out to some two lakh villages, apart from the urban spheres, for two things: make a bid to transform it into a people’s movement and reach out to the younger generation,” he added.Singhal said the parishad wanted all the political parties to pass a legislation in Parliament for construction of the temple in Ayodhya.

The young volunteers of the VHP are using the social networking sites to pass on the message among the netizens.He said various committees were formed. A hundred volunteers would make a regional (Pranth) committee; 5070 members’ a district-level committee; then a sub-sector committee of about 30 volunteers and about ten members are being roped in to form a village committee to strengthen the agitation The campaign is the beginning of an agitation that the parivar wants to take to its logical end.Prof Manohara Rao, President of Sri Hanuman Shakti Jagaran Samithi, AP unit said they were taking part in the agitation from August 16 in all district headquarters in the state. "We directed all the district committees to participate in the protest events while chanting Hanuman Chaleesa," he said.
