Movement to create awareness towards Ganeshotsava celebrations

Mangaon (Maharashtra): Nowadays, Ganeshotsava is celebrated in a very perverted manner.  Film music, dancing in procession under influence of liquor and advertisements of ‘gutka and matka’ are seen everywhere. For many years, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been undertaking a campaign to maintain the sanctity of the festival and stop malpractices going on during the festival.

In the above background, like last year, members of HJS approached the office-bearers of Krantinagar Ganeshotsava Mandal (KGM) even this year and presented the concept of ‘Ideal Ganeshotsava’. In the meeting with the members of KGM, it has been decided to celebrate the festival in an ideal manner by Mr. Pratik Hirave, the President, Mr. Adarsh More, the Vice-President, Pankaj Khamgaonkar, the organizer and advocate, Mr. Dilip Rajput, Secretary, Mr. Indranil Patil, Treasurer and other office bearers.

Installation of Sree Ganesha amid ‘sattvik’ decorations, lectures on protection of Nation, Ayurveda and ‘Dharmacharan’, keertan, singing of ballads, demonstrations of self-defence, display of ‘flex’-banners giving information about worship of Sree Ganesha are the specialities of ‘Ideal Ganeshotsava’. Programs sponsored by HJS have been organized during the festival; under which, a lecture by Mr. Balwant Phatak from Panvel on ‘Ganeshotsava- reality and ideal’ on 13th September, guidance by Mr. Jambhale Guruji from Pena on 14th and 15th September on the topic ‘How to take ‘darshan’ of Deities in temple?’ and ‘Preparation and the right method of ritualistic worship’ and on 16th September, showing VCD on ‘Ideal celebrations of Navaratri festival’ have been arranged. On 17th September, a lecture on ‘Importance of Sanskrut and Marathi languages’ by Prof. Suresh Purohit from Mahad, on 18th September, a lecture by Smt. Jayashree Bhalerao of ‘Ranaragini’ on the topic ‘Attacks on Dharma’; on 19th September, a lecture by Prof. Suresh Purohit on ‘the Present condition of independent India’, on 20th September, a VCD will be shown on ‘Importance of ‘Pitrupaksha’. Mr. Shrikant Deshpande from Nagothane will give guidance on ‘Spiritual Practice as per ‘Gurukrupa Yoga’ on 21st September.

All the programs will start at 7.00 p.m. The decoration will be based on the incident of Swatantryaveer Savarkar’s leap at Marseilles. The procession to bring the idol of Sree Ganesha will be taken out without throwing ‘gulal’, with chanting by the participants and carrying ‘flex’ banners enlightening people on different issues. KGM has made an appeal to all Ganesha-devotees of Mangaon to make use of this opportunity.
