UP BJP chief dares Azam to ban RSS

Bareilly : Uttar Pradesh BJP president Laxmikant Bajpai, who was in the city on Monday, said the issue of construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya had never been dropped from the agenda. He expressed the hope that the Supreme Court would pass an order in favour of the temple.

Talking to TOI, Bajpai said, “Lord Ram is a symbol of faith for Hindus, not just for only one political party, and, hence, everyone wants the Ram temple in Ayodhya. There are two ways of building the temple — through a common agreement and on the direction of court. But since there is no common agreement on this issue, the temple should be constructed on the order of the court. After the high court, we are hopeful that the Supreme Court too will pass an order in favour of the temple, following which construction work will begin.” He reiterated that the temple construction was always in their agenda.

On UP minister Azam Khan’s demand for a ban on RSS, he said, “If he dares to ban RSS, he will face the consequences.”

Reacting to Khan’s statement that RSS should be declared a ‘terrorist’ outfit, Bajpai said, “RSS has been functional in the country before the birth of Azam. People who were proved to be terrorists in Ayodhya were let off as his party withdrew the charges against them.”
