‘Holi’ is a festival that eliminates evil attitude and inauspicious, bad thoughts showing virtuous path; but unfortunately, the festivals has lost its sanctity owing to different malpractices going on in celebration; therefore, HJS has been undertaking movement to enlighten people for the past 6 years on the ideal manner of celebrating ‘Holi’ festival. HJS undertook a drive on the day of ‘Dhuli-vandan’ for protection of ‘Khadakvasla Water Reservoir’ from the people celebrating ‘Holi’ using chemical colours/ paints, to prevent contamination of water in the Reservoir as it supplies water to Pune so also curb malpractices taking place under the guise of celebration of this festival. The drive achieved 100% success and this was the tenth year of undertaking such drive by HJS. Read more »
Pune: Around 100 members of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti will guard the Khadakwasla dam on March 20 and 24 from 10 am to 7 pm to prevent revellers from bathing in the reservoir after celebrating Holi and Rang Panchami. Read more »
