Mumbai – Following strong opposition from the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on social media and its firm demand for the immediate withdrawal of the objectionable advertisement, ConfirmTkt has removed the promotional material featuring Bhagwan Shri Ganesha.
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had clearly stated that the commercial use of Hindu Deities and any form of advertising that hurts religious sentiments is unacceptable under any circumstances. At the Samiti’s call, several Hindu organisations and devout Hindus also registered their protest on social media platforms.
The company’s decision to withdraw the advertisement in response to public sentiment marks a significant success for organised awareness in Hindu society and the effective efforts of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
HJS demands apology from ConfirmTkt for disrespecting Bhagwan Shri Ganesha in train booking ad
July 23, 2026

Mumbai – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has called out train ticket booking platform ConfirmTkt for disrespecting Bhagwan Shri Ganesha by using the Deity’s image in a cashback promotion for Ganesh Chaturthi train bookings.
In the advertisement, Bhagwan Shri Ganesha is depicted alongside train travel offers and cashback discounts. Many devotees have strongly condemned the campaign, calling it an inappropriate commercial exploitation of a revered deity that deeply hurts religious sentiments.
Would any brand dare use the holiest symbols of other religions to sell discounts and cashback?
Then why is Bhagwan Shri Ganesh repeatedly used as a marketing prop? Our Deities should be revered, not exploited for commercial gains. Respect Hindu faith. @ConfirmTKT Stop… https://t.co/ZmVujo9pfX

Deities deserve reverence, not commercial exploitation
Hindus have highlighted that using sacred images, worshipped by crores of devotees worldwide, for promotional discounts, cashback schemes or any commercial advertising is deeply disrespectful.
Hindus have also raised serious questions regarding double standards in advertising, asking whether any commercial brand would dare feature the sacred symbols or figures of other major religions to promote discounts and financial incentives. Why are only Hindu Gods and Goddesses repeatedly targeted as marketing props for commercial gain?
HJS demands public apology from ConfirmTkt
HJS has strongly protested against the action of ConfirmTkt and has raised the following demands:
- ConfirmTkt must immediately remove the advertisement from all digital and social media platforms.
- The company must issue a formal declaration committing to never use images of Hindu deities in any commercial or promotional campaigns in the future.
- ConfirmTkt must tender a public apology, respecting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
