Abhiyan graced by the presence of descendants of Narveer Bajiprabhu Deshpande and Narveer Shiva Kashid
Pawankhind, Kolhapur – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was always battle-ready. The Hindavi Swarajya he established was built on complete self-reliance. The Swarajya encompassed a vast expanse of 1,500 kilometres, stretching from Attock to Jinjee. The monumental legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is of such grandeur that the title of ‘Chakravarti Samrat’ (Universal Emperor) truly befits him.
Numerous ‘Mavalas’ (warriors) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, including Narveer Shiva Kashid, Bajiprabhu Deshpande, and Phulaji Prabhu, sacrificed their lives for Hindavi Swarajya. Drawing inspiration from these ideals, National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri. Ramesh Shinde, called upon everyone to pledge sacrifices for a Hindu Rashtra, following the example of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s brave warriors.

Shri. Shinde was speaking on the occasion of the ‘Pawankhind Abhiyan’ organized by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on 30 July, in accordance with the traditional lunar calendar (tithi). The event, held amid torrential rains, ignited profound enthusiasm and historical consciousness among attendees, with patriotic slogans evoking a stirring response throughout the assembly.
The event witnessed the revered presence of Sadguru Swati Khadye, Dharmaprasarak of Sanatan Sanstha, alongside special guests including Nilesh Deshpande and Sandesh Deshpande (descendants of Bajiprabhu Deshpande), Suhasdada Salunkhe (descendant of Sardar Kamaloji Salunkhe), and Anandrao Kashid (descendant of Veer Shiva Kashid). The event was anchored by Kiran Duse of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
The programme concluded with the recitation of the Dhyeyamantra by Dharakari Shri. Sanjay Patil of Shri Shivpratisthan Hindustan (Natoli-Sagaon, Battis Shirala), followed by a collective pledge dedicated to the establishment of a Hindu Rashtra. Speaking on the occasion, Anandrao Kashid stated, “Countless warriors made the supreme sacrifice in this mountain pass (khind). We must draw inspiration from these warriors and strive to live up to their history.”

The assembly welcomed numerous civic leaders, community representatives, and devout Hindus from surrounding regions, including: Rashmi Kothawale (President, Malkapur Municipal Council), Mahesh Kothawale (Councillor), Chandrakant Patil (Sarpanch, Gajapur – Pandhrepani), Mahesh Vibhute (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), Vikas Jadhav (Vice President, Hindu Mahasabha) and Sheelatai Mane (Mahila Aghadi), Vaidya Ashwini Malkar (‘Arogya Bharti’), Devout Hindus Ramesh Padwal and Charudutta Potdar, Entrepreneur Manisha Wadikar, Priest Suhas Joshi (Malkapur), Yogesh Kerkar (Work Chief, ‘Maratha Tituka Melwava’), Ashok Gurav (Mandir Mahasangh), Shivanand Swami and Mahendra Ahire (Hindu Janajagruti Samiti), Dr Mansing Shinde (Sanatan Sanstha) and Dr Shilpa Kothawale.
Establishing a Hindu Rashtra is not possible without struggle – Sadguru Swati Khadye
Just as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his warriors fought to establish Hindavi Swarajya, achieving a Hindu Rashtra today today demands unwavering dedication and struggle. Just as warriors continuously raised the war cry of “Har Har Mahadev” during battle, we too must daily chant “Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram” to facilitate the establishment of Ram Rajya.
Key highlights
- Pledge for Hindu Rashtra: At the conclusion of the event, all attendees took a collective pledge for the establishment of a ‘Hindu Rashtra’, echoing slogans such as “Jayatu Jayatu Hindurashtram”.
- Exhibition of historical artefacts: A sword used by Kamaloji Salunkhe—a commander in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army—along with an authentic patta (guarded straight sword) from the Maratha era, were presented to the audience. These historic artefacts were specially brought for the campaign.
- Felicitation: Anish Potdar of ‘Maratha Tituka Melwava’ was specially felicitated by Ramesh Shinde in recognition of his exemplary contribution of donating blood 107 times.
Event proceedings
- Floral garlands were ceremonially offered by dignitaries at the memorial board honouring national heroes on behalf of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
- Salutations were offered to the flag situated at Pawankhind.
- Garlands were offered at the memorial (samadhi) of Bajiprabhu Deshpande.
- Guest speakers delivered addresses highlighting the significance of sacrifice and offering guidance on actions required in current times.
- An exhibition depicting portraits of Indian revolutionaries was set up at the venue.
