Complaint filed against Mohali church

A written complaint to the police was today filed by Ramesh Kumar, secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Mohali, alleging that some objectionable words were said against a community during a programme being organised at a church in Phase-III A.

The priest of the church, Sat Pal, refuted the allegations and said some political activists are conspiring against the programme from the very first day.

Kumar contacted Harjit Singh Bhullar, vice- president of BJP, District Mohali, and Jaswinder Singh, incharge of Bajrang Dal, Mohali, and called them to the spot. The written complaint was handed over to the SHO of Phase-I Police Station, Satnam Singh, who was also present at the spot. Bhullar also demanded to stop a programme which the church is going to conduct tomorrow morning at 9 and again in the evening.

The priest said the church was just organising a Saturday Fast Prayer. He said the entire programme has been videographed by the administration and everything is clear and transparent about this programme.

SHO Satnam Singh said the police are making a video film of the entire programme and that he would also check the CD.
