Dharam Sena activists storm church

Jabalpur: Dharam Sena activists today stormed a church here during a prayer meeting and shouted slogans accusing the participants of indulging in forcible religious conversion, police said.

Around 50 activists of Dharam Sena, a Hindu outfit, entered the church premises in Gorakhpur area here when some 23 people were taking part in a morning prayer and alleged that religious conversion was being effected by them, police said.

No untoward incident took place though the Sena activists raised slogans for some time alleging conversion under the garb of prayer meetings, they said adding that the situation in the area is peaceful and normal.

While Dharam Sena’s city president Yogesh Agarwal alleged that religious conversion was being carried out at the church for a long time, church functionaries refuted the charge saying a prayer meeting and training programme on bible was in progress.
