Devout Hindus take missionaries to task

Kolhapur (Maharashtra): Local citizens complained to members of Hindu Organizations that Christian missionaries were holding prayer meetings on every Sunday and Monday at Siddharth Nagar in Gokul Shirgaon, for conversion of Hindus. Members of these Organizations and local citizens asked for explanation from the missionaries and took them to task. Taking into account the aggressive stance of people, the missionaries promised to them that they would not try to convert people; they also told the members to destroy the material used by them for conversion in case they are caught indulging in conversion. The missionaries were then allowed to go. (Congratulations to members of Hindu Organizations and local citizens for promptly taking action against missionaries and prevent conversions. – Editor)

The missionaries were conducting prayer meetings at Siddharth Nagar for the last 2 months. They had even hired a room. Every Sunday and Monday, meetings used to be held and Hindus were lured to adopt Christianity. The local villagers, therefore, complained to the members of Hindu Organizations. The members visited the place to find out. There were about 30,000 people attending the meeting. As the prayers started, the mob got angry. The members asked for explanation from the missionaries. As the crowd was getting angry, missionaries requested the members to allow them to go; but they had to give in writing that they would not again try to convert Hindus. The meeting was attended by Shri. Baburao Patil, former taluka-chief of Shiv Sena, S/Shri. Mahadeo Patil, Ravi Jadhav, Dattatreya Patil, Prakash Patil, Dayanand Patil; Amar Patil of Sree Shivapratishthan, Vishwas Patil, a member of Gram Panchayat, Santosh Kagale, Dada Patil, Satish Shirgave and many other devout Hindus and locals. (Such devout Hindus, who are so vigilant and return the attack on Dharma so promptly, are required everywhere – Editor)

The Gram-panchayat of Gokul Shirgaon has issued a notice to the missionaries that action would be taken against them if they indulge in conversion activities in future.
