Panaji (Gao): Christian missionaries are always against BJP and refer to BJP as a Hindu party. Hindus were promised by BJP that Sree Rama temple would be built in Ayodhya but they did not keep their promise and even Hindus have lost faith in BJP; nor the Muslims are in favour of BJP. BJP’s condition is very pathetic as nobody wants them. This has been proved by the present unstable BJP led Government. Fr. Gomes recently appealed to organizations like ‘Ooth Goyankar’ and “Goa Bachav Andolan’ to fight against BJP.
Dr. Oscar Rebello, the chief Convener of Goa Bachao Andolan, father of the main church in Goa specially went to the residence of the Chief Minister to wish him for the victory. When there was a likelihood of Congress losing majority, Fr. Gomes appealed to anti-Hindu parties to come on the roads to support Congress. Fr. Gomes said that the coalition of parties is socially more dangerous than the earlier Government. He said that the Government with 21 factions would not last even for 50 days. He has asked people to take to the roads and condemn the Government that has disregard for people’s votes.
