Mangalore: Shrewd Christian missionaries have devised a new plan to convert Hindus. They have distributed copies of biography of Jesus Christ in 75000 schools in the State of Karnataka. It was interesting to know that the BJP-Janata Dal government machinery is being used for distribution.

News about the State Government granting permission to distribute copies of biography of Jesus in schools was first published in Sanatan Prabhat. David Simion, the ex-Chairman of Legislative Council and Christian organizations at Bhadravati had sought permission from Shri. Basavraj Horatti, the State Education Minister, for distributing in schools, copies of biography of Jesus. Their plan was approved by the Education Department and necessary orders were also issued in this regard.

The Education Department of Karnataka has taken the task of distribution very seriously. A few BJP MLAs like Shri. Sunil Kumar from Karkal, Shri. Vivekananda Vaidya from Srisi and a few others have opposed the move. Demonstrations were also held at various places to protest but the Education Minister is just not bothered.

Schools in Karnataka have received bundles containing books of biography of Jesus. Soon these books will be distributed among students. The books were first sent to the officials in Education Department who are sending them to different schools.

On the back page of the books, address is given as ‘Seva Bharati, Post Box No. 9, and Secunderabad’. As a matter of fact, Seva Bharati is an associate of RSS, which is mainly involved in giving various types of services to people. It is an attempt to misguide people, as they would think that RSS was printing such books. In this book, no mention has been made about name of the Publisher, address, name of writer or who has the copyrights etc.

The book gives all the information about Jesus Christ. It also has teachings of Jesus in simple language that can be followed by small children. It is written on the first page of the book that: "Study the book with devotion". An interview of Mother Teresa is given along with photographs and Jesus has been described as the ‘true’ God that heals diseases with just His touch. As per the practice, the book gives a message of Jesus in the end. It has also been mentioned under ’Good News’ that Jesus has been re-born and He is going to change our lives.

Editor’s Note

This is an example of pro-Christian policies of BJP- Janata Dal Government. How can one believe in BJP that it is a political party to safeguard interests of Hindus when its activities show otherwise? BJP is also involved in wooing Muslims and Christians. How can one call it a ‘secular’ Education Department? It has been a past experience of Hindus that there is a competition among all ministers when it comes to wooing of Muslims or Christians; but they lose all interest when it comes to doing something for Hindus. Hindu Organizations must teach a lesson to such ministers. What ANIS has got to say in this matter? Chances of this good news resulting in a bad news for Hindus are more likely.
