Christian Pastor beaten up for instigating Hindus!

Panajim: At Bambolim, Pastor S. Zakaria had set up a ‘Prayer House’ in one room along with 5 of his relatives; this was aided by Jerusalem Church Trust of Mangalore. These people conducted prayers and lectures every Sunday, from 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. About 8 months ago, wife of Mr. John D’Cunha from Mhapsa started attending the prayers and in a few days, bickering started between the couple.

Shortly thereafter, wife of Shri. Manoj Nippanikar started going for the prayers, along with Mrs. D’Cunha and within a few days, discord developed even between Nippanikar couple. Mrs. Nippanikar removed her ‘mangal-sutra’ at the instigation of the Pastor. This Pastor used to teach them disgraceful things – marriage does not take place just by pronouncing some ‘mantras’; but it takes place only when one bears a child. Mr. John and his friend Mr. Nippanikar approached some Hindu organizations and went to the ‘Prayer House’ and took the Pastor to task during his lecture. Pastor Zakaria had no satisfactory answers to their queries.

An associate of the Pastor threatened them and therefore, Mr. John, Mr. Nippanikar and other furious Hindus gave them a sound beating. Later, they lodged a complaint with the police against the Pastor.

(How many Hindus take their Christian friends to temples and tell them about the greatness of Hindu Dharma? There is no alternative but to educate Hindus on their Dharma.-Editor)
