State Govt. should make law against conversions – VHP

Mumbai: Hindus beating up Christian missionaries at Ichalkaranji was angry retribution of Hindus; but unfortunately, media is giving emphasis to the reaction and sidelining the main problem created by missionaries by luring poor Hindus and converting them. Missionaries are also giving them false promises. Till such conversions are taking place, there will be such heated reactions by Hindus, said Prof. Vyankatesh Abdev of VHP. He demanded in a press conference that the State Government should, therefore, enact a law preventing forceful conversions.

The basic crime was committed by a missionary at Ichalkaranji and secondly, by Hindu people for taking law in their hands. If, however, Government keeps on turning a blind eye to such forceful conversions, it is but natural for Hindus to react in such manner. Every year about a lac of girls are abducted and converted into Islam. There needs to be a permanent solution to the problem of conversions, said Prof. Abdev. Why media is so much in favour of Shahabuddin? He was after all, a terrorist. Thousands of such Shahabuddins should be killed. But in this country, terrorist like Mohammad Afzal is not hanged even after the Supreme Court passed a verdict in his case resulting in burgeoning terrorism in the country. Recently, one of the T.V. channels have deliberately maligned reputation of Hindu saints like H. Ramvilas Vedante and H. Pilot baba.
