During the Amrit Mahotsav celebration, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde honored the revered Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj. Recognized as a guardian of Vedic traditions, a global advocate for the dissemination of the Gita, and the custodian of the Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Nyasa, Parampujya Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj was acknowledged during the ‘Amrit-Mahotsav Samman Sohla.’ The event took place at the ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar National Memorial’ in Shivaji Park, Dadar, Mumbai, in collaboration with the ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar National Memorial’ and the ‘Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.’ Swamiji’s eloquent guidance resonated, infusing the nation and devotees with renewed energy and inspiration.

During this significant occasion, the presence of notable figures added to the honor and celebration. State School Education Minister and Mumbai City Guardian Minister, Shri. Deepak Kesarkar, Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council, Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Shiv Sena MLA, Shri. Bharatsheth Gogavle, Working President of Freedom Savarkar National Memorial, Shri. Ranjit Savarkar, National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri. Ramesh Shinde, and Chief Editor of Sudarshan News, Shri. Suresh Chavanke, graced the event. Parampujya Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj conducted an enlightening interview with Chief Editor of Sudarshan News, Mr. Suresh Chavanke, during the festivities. Additionally, the release of the book ‘Make Sure Gandhi is Dead,’ authored by Shri. Ranjit Savarkar, was a notable highlight, with dignitaries taking part in the book launch ceremony.

The profound principles upheld by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the indomitable freedom fighter Savarkar played a pivotal role in the salvation of our country. After numerous generations, the Shri Ram Temple proudly stands. It is now our responsibility to witness our nation standing tall in this very generation. In my pursuit across the literary realms of the world, I have found no treasures comparable to the legacies of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj in the annals of history. Parampujya Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj expressed, “If Maharashtra follows the exemplary path set by these luminaries, it has the potential to once again lead the world. Let us collectively embark on this journey to elevate our nation.

While the primary aim of spirituality is salvation, Swamiji’s spiritual endeavors extend to benefit all. Despite embracing the life of sannyas, Swamiji has actively engaged in national service. Veer Savarkar rightly expressed that when we forget Rama, our nation faces demise. Swamiji, when entrusted with the role of treasurer for the Ram Janmabhoomi, executed this responsibility with utmost transparency and timeliness, thereby playing a pivotal role in the successful construction of the Ram Temple,” declared Ranjit Savarkar, the Working President of the Swatantryaveer Savarkar National Memorial.

During this event, the national spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri. Ramesh Shinde, described Parampujya Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj as a national yogi saint, emphasizing Swamiji’s profound insights on the nation, encompassing religion and spirituality. Swamiji, regarded as a father figure to all Hindus in India, has exemplified the ‘ideal’ for the Adarsh state, symbolized by Ramlalla. Shri. Ramesh Shinde urged Hindus to draw inspiration from Swamiji’s life and actively contribute to the cause of Hindu Rashtra, safeguarding religion and temples.

Highlighting Swamiji’s global impact, Shri. Ramesh Shinde acknowledged how Swamiji, through hundreds of online sermons on the Gita and spirituality during the pandemic, provided courage to people in over 100 countries. The Deputy Chairman of Gauravodgar Vidhan Parishad, Neelam Gorhe, lauded Swamiji’s remarkable work in understanding various religious thoughts and sharing their profound essence.

Several dignitaries, including Shiv Sena MP Shri. Rahul Shewale, BJP MLA Shri. Ashish Shelar, and BJP spokesperson and MLA Mr. Atul Bhatkhalkar, expressed their gratitude towards Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj. The program commenced with the National Anthem and the State Anthem ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha…’. Students from the music department of Swatantryaveer Savarkar National Memorial presented the song ‘Sakal Jagamadhya Chhaan, Amche Priyakar Hindustan…’. The dignitaries lit lamps, honored saints, and felicitated individuals. The event also marked the unveiling of Agni Foundation’s website, logo, and app, concluding with the spirited rendition of ‘Vande Mataram.’ A diverse gathering, including dignitaries from various fields, attended this Amrit Mahotsav Samman Sohla.
