PMC demolished 6 temples in midnight, no action on illegal Dargah

Pune (Maharashtra): PMC’s action exhibiting its ‘Aurangzeb tendency’, is still going on as it has destroyed Hindu temples taking advantage of the darkness. In the midnight of 16th March, Sahakarnagar zonal office of the Encroachment Department of PMC, demolished two temples of Sri Ganesha, three temples of Saibaba and a temple of Lord Shiva in Gultekadi area. PMC did not bother to even inform the management of these temples.  Devotees had lot of faith in these temples. Hundreds of devotees used to visit these temples regularly. The enraged devotees were of the view that ‘PMC has put even Mahmud of Gazani to shame’. There is tension in the area. During the last week, PMC had destroyed three temples near Ramoshi gate police station in the midnight. Mr. Ramesh Shelar, the Head of the Encroachment Department informed that the action was being taken as per the directions of the Supreme Court.

BJP opposes action against temples

BJP has issued a representation condemning PMC for taking action only against temples overlooking unauthorized churches and mosques. The representation against the black deed of PMC has been submitted by a delegation of BJP to the Commissioner of PMC.
