Solapur Municipal Corporation sold cows to butchers !

Solapur (Maharashtra): The Municipal Corporation was taking custody of cows owned by the Hindus and was directly selling them to butchers. Its disgraceful act was brought to light by alert members of Sriram Sena. (Congratulations to the alert members of Sriram Sena for taking action to protect ‘Goumata’! Such devout Hindus are the true strength of Hindu Dharma ! – Editor SP) A demand is being made to take action against the officers of the Municipal Corporation involved in such act. (Hindus should not stop at just making such demand; but should follow up the matter till the concerned officers are booked; else such things will go on ! – Editor SP)

There is a system to take into custody stray animals which create obstacle in traffic and to keep them in cattle-house; but the officers of the cattle-house were selling such animals directly to the butchers by conniving with the police and butchers. When this was noticed by the members of Sriram Sena; they kept a watch. It was later discovered that the cows kept in the cattle-house were in the custody of butchers.

Many times, when the owners of the cows used to go to the Municipality to find their missing animals, they used to be told that the animals had gone away. If the owners wanted to lodge a complaint about the missing animals, police did not register such complaints. A representation has been submitted by Sriram Sena to Saurabh Rao, the Municipal Commissioner demanding to take stringent action against the guilty officers and to shift the cattle-house to another place as presently, it is close to the slaughter-house. Mr. Siddharam Nandargi, the district- coordinator of Sriram Sena, Mr. Yashpal Wadkar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Mr. Satish Kunchpor were present on the occasion.
