Thane (Maharashtra): Christian missionaries had organized prayer meeting at two places in the city. It was their ploy to convert Hindus through the medium of prayers.  The ploy, was however, foiled in time, by Mr. Deepak Medhekar, an activist of Bajarang Dal and Mr. Madhav Pujari of VHP.

Christian missionaries had organized prayer meetings between 26th and 29th January at ‘Royal Inn’ hotel in Mill Naka area where Hindu population is more. Mr. Medhekar met the owner of the hotel as soon as he heard about the prayer meetings and made the owner realize about the ploy of conversion planned through the prayers. The hotel owner then opposed the program.

In another incident, a prayer was organized by the Christian missionaries on 26th January at Vardhaman Hall, Gokulnagar, Thane. Mr. Medhekar and Mr. Madhav Pujari, city-minister of VHP called on the owner of the hall and explained the matter to him. Then he too refused to let the hall on hire for such programs. Mr. Medhekar lodged a complaint with Rabodi police station and a case was filed against the Christian missionaries. Bajarang Dal has issued a circular warning the Christian missionaries against hurting religious sentiments of Hindus in such manner visiting Hindus’ residential colonies and if they do so, Bajarang Dal would stage agitation.
