Chief of Muzarai Development Board takes up the cause of saving Temples

HJS save Temple campaign wakes up the Government

Bengaluru (Karnataka) : The HJS Karnataka campaign to save temples marked as unauthorized took a positive turn with the Chairman of State Muzarai (Endowments) Development Board and BWSSB, holding Cabinet rank, Mr. Es. En. Krisshnaiah Setty personally taking with him the delegation of HJS and Sri Ram Sena members to discuss the matter with the Joint Secretary of the Chief Minister, Mr. Nandagopal,  in his chambers in the Vidhan Soudha (State Secretariat) in Bengaluru on the 18th of January 2011.

Mr. Chandra Moger, HJS Bengaluru coordinator and Mr. Nagaraj Naidu Sri Ram Sena Vice President Bengaluru led the team along with more than 10 Devout Hindus and HJS members. Mr. Setty conveyed to Mr. Nandakumar that he was deeply hurt by the Governments action of demolishing the temples. When the officer reminded that Mr. Setty was also part of the Government, Mr. Setty said that he has come as a Hindu for protection of their Shraddha Sthan. There were detailed deliberation and scrutiny of various legal papers for about one hour, including the legal Scrutiny report given by leading High Court and Supreme Court Advocate Mr. Ravindra Kamath. Mr. Chandra also explained as to how the demolition drive was going on without any proper notice or discussions with the aggrieved parties.

Later Mr. Nandakumar decided to hold a review meeting on the subject headed by the Chief Minister along with various Secretaries and Ministries concerned. He also drafted out the points for discussion in the meeting and took the suggestions of the Samiti members in this regard.

Mr. Chandra told about the demolitions in Kollegal, Chikkaballapur, and Shimoga etc. Mr. Nandakumar gave immediate instructions for stopping any further demolitions till the matter is resolved.
