HJS’s demand to ban crackers with pictures of deities and national heroes
During Diwali and other occasions, crackers with pictures of deities and national heroes are burst. With bursting of crackers, the pictures get torn to shreds thus causing denigration of deities and national leaders. HJS has therefore, written to the Controller of Explosives, Indian Government, All India Federation of Fire Works Association, Shiva kashi (TamilNadu), Tamilnadu Fire Works and Armories Manufacturers Association besides Home Minister of Maharashtra Shri. R. R. Patil, Director General of Police and Police Commissioner to bring a ban on bursting of such crackers.

Pune Municipal Court stays construction of Dargah wall
The Municipal Court of Pune has issued a stay order against construction of wall of Shaikh Sallah Durgah which had collapsed earlier. The Court has asked the Municipality to present their case on October 11. In view of the ruins of Hindu temple found under the debris of the wall, Hindu organizations demanded that the site should be excavated.

It is not proper to have crackers with deities’ pictures
Abdullah Ghia, the owner of ‘Isabhai Phataka Mart’, the oldest crackers dealer said that it is not proper even as per his religion to have pictures of deities on crackers. The organizers of Frankfurt Book fair render apology for desecrated picture of Lord Ganesh
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) learnt about the desecrated picture of Lord Ganesh displayed by the organizers of ‘Frankfurt Book Fair 2006’ held in Germany in October 2006. HJS immediately wrote to the Director, ‘National Book Trust India’, New Delhi registering protest against such mockery of Lord Ganesh and it also started an ‘Online’ protest drive on its website https://www.hindujagruti.org/. The organizers of the book fair rendered their apology and issued an apology letter signed by the Director, International Section of ‘Frankfurt Book Fair’; but HJS will continue its fight till the picture is withdrawn from the Fair and the organizers render a public apology.
