It is not proper to have crackers with deities’ pictures

Mumbai: Abdullah Ghia, the owner of ‘Isabhai Phataka Mart’, the oldest crackers dealer said that it is not proper even as per his religion to have pictures of deities on crackers. He assured Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) that he would stop keeping crackers with the picture of Lakshmi Devi for sale.

He said that if Shri. Navin Chhadva, the President of the Association was selling such crackers, it is objectionable and he would bring it to the notice of Shri. Chhavda. On the last Diwali, Shri. Navin Chhavda had told HJS that the association had put a ban on selling such crackers with pictures of deities. In fact, it was observed that in Chhavda’s shop itself, such crackers were sold. When he was asked about it, he disconnected the phone and left the shop. Delegation of HJS met Ghia in this context when he assured of his cooperation.
