Dear Vishnu,

Digit did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings, or cause any scandals. To be honest, we weren't even aware of this movie until a lot of our readers started requesting that we give it in our DVDs. I would like to offer you and your family my sincere apologies, and assure you that nothing like this will ever happen again in the future.

Regards,

Namaste,

A widely circulated Computer Magazine Digit (http://www.thinkdigit.com/) has included the film "Sita Sings the Blues" in full in its June 2010 DVD. Incidentally its editor  Mr. Robert Sovereign Smith is a Christian.

I have already send following protest emails in the following addresses with the content given below:
editor@thinkdigit.com (Mr. Robert Sovereign Smith); readersletters@thinkdigit.com; cdcontent@thinkdigit.com

Sir,

You have included a movie "Sita Sings the Blues" in your June 2010 DVD. It has deeply hurt my religious feelings, reasons for which are detailed here: http://www.hindujagruti.org/denigrations/sitasingstheblues
I strongly protest against including a film denigrating Hindu Gods in your magazine.

Regards,
Vishnu B

Kindly launch a strong protest against this as this is a deliberate attempt to give wide publicity to the film as the Internet edition will not get so much circulation. This also will corrupt the young generation who are the main customers of this magazine. Hope you will do the needful.

Humble Pranams,
Vishnu

Dear Dr Bharti,

Digit did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings, or cause any scandals. To be honest, we weren't even aware of this movie until a lot of our readers started requesting that we give it in our DVDs.

I think there is some major confusion regarding this movie, as hundreds of readers were actually requesting it for their children to learn about the holy Ramayana, and we just thought it was a modern way of teaching people about that.

We made the mistake of not watching it before giving it, and I would like to offer you and your family my sincere apologies. This will never, ever happen again in the future.

Hello,
I have been subscribing Digit magazine for my young nephew since several years. I am shocked to learn that I am actually misguiding him from his Dharma, something I revere so dearly. By the CD of Sita sings the Blues you have  perpetrated a feeling of ridicule for the Hindu religious Deities in the minds of young children , indirectly. Since the harm is already done as children  will watch the CD, the only wise thing for you to do would be to publish an apology in your next issue to all the millions of Hindu readers.
