Govt. should stop mixing of ‘Sarva-Dharma-Teertha’ at Kalaram Mandir, Rama-kunda and Kushawart ! – Shri. Mahant Narendragiriji Maharaj

Opposition by Sadhus- Saints and Shankaracharya for MIT’s project in Pune

Trimbakeshwar : Collecting of ‘Teertha’ from religious places of others and bringing to the famous holy places like Shri. Kalaram Mandir, ‘Rama-kunda’ and Kushawart, in Trimbakeshwar should be stopped since such action is nowhere recommended under Hindu Dharma, demanded Shri. Mahant Narendragiriji Maharaj.

An educational institute MIT from Pune will collect ‘Teertha’ from religious places of other religions and mix it together. Such ‘Sarva-Dharma-Teertha’ will be sprinkled at Kushawart on 25th September 2015. Shri. Mahant Narendragiriji Maharaj expressed his views in this context.

He said, “Collecting ‘Teertha’ from all religions and sprinkling it at Kushawart is in fact against Sanatan Hindu Dharma and it is just a farce. Why is it being thrown only in temple; and why not at any mosque or a church ? Everyone respects others’ religions but few people trying to show their secularism, are indulging in wrong things which is quite pathetic. It is our duty to stop such things on behalf of ‘Aakhaadaa Parishada’; therefore, we demand that the Government should stop sprinkling of ‘Sarva  Dharma Teertha’ at Shri. Kalaram Mandir, Rama-kunda or Kushawart.”

Teertha touched by ‘Mlenchaa’ pollutes Ganga; therefore, it should not be mixed with Ganga water ! – Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Swarupanand Saraswati

Responding to ‘Sarva- Dharma- Teertha’, Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Swarupanand Saraswati recited a ‘shloka’ and said, “River Ganga purifies every thing. It is polluted by coming in contact with ‘Mlenchha’; therefore, if ‘Sarva-Dharma-Teertha’ is thrown at Kushawarta, Ganga (i.e. Godavari) can get polluted and it should not be allowed. We oppose this plan.”
