HJS’ report of its ‘Dharma-prasar’ activities at Chennai during September 2014

1. Guidance in road meetings held by Shiv Sena

On 18.9.2014, Shiv Sena’s Chennai branch had organized ‘road-meeting’ at Kondithope. I took part in the same and presented topic on ‘Importance of Hindu Dharma, spiritual practice and establishment of Hindu Rashtra’. About 200 people attended the meeting.

2. Guidance by HJS and exhibition of holy books during ‘Akhand Naam-jap’ program organized by ‘Ishwarpeetham’ on the occasion of ‘Pradosh’

On 21.9.2014, an organization named ‘Ishwarpeetham’ had arranged ‘Akhand Naam-jap’ program at Ambattupur; worshipping Bhagavan Shiva on the occasion of ‘Pradosh’. A lecture was conducted by HJS explaining importance of science behind worshipping Lord Shiva, importance of chanting the name of ‘Kul-devata’ and Lord ‘Datta’ and significance of Navaratri festival. Shri. Jagannath, the Chief of the program, commended activities of HJS and said that in future, HJS would be invited to join their programs. About 100 devotees attended the program. An exhibition of spiritual books was also held at the venue.

Members of HJS meet Shri. Swami Jayendra Saraswati of Kanchi Kamkoti Peetha and seek his blessings

On 13.9.2014, a program was held at ‘Krushna Gaan Sabha’, Chennai to celebrate 80th birthday of Kamkoti Pithadheeshwar Shri. Swami Jayendra Saraswati which was attended by me (Sou. Uma Ravichandran) and Shri. Ravichandran on behalf of HJS. After chanting and cultural programs, Shri. Vijayendra Saraswati Swami spoke about various social and spiritual projects undertaken by Kanchi Mutt. He gave more emphasis on ‘Sanghe shakti: Kalou Yuge (In Kali Yuga, there is strength in unity)’.

HJS members sought blessings of Shri. Swami Jayendra Saraswati on this occasion. He was presented a book in Tamil on the subject of ‘Conversions and purification of the converted’ Swamiji was also informed about ‘Hindu Dharma-deeksha Kendra’ set up for re-converting Hindus who have been earlier converted to another religion. Swamiji gave ‘kumkum’ as ‘prasad’ for this mission and extended his blessings.
