District level Hindu Convention held at Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu)

Hindu activists resolve to unite for prevention of conversions !

Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) held district-level Hindu Convention at Tikkanamkodu in Kanyakumari district on 17th April. Kanyakumari, which had inspired Swami Vivekananda, is today facing problem of conversion as 42% population has been converted to Christianity and are engaged in anti-Hindu activities. All participating pro-Hindu activists, about 70 in number, resolved during the Convention to strive for prevention of conversions. The Convention could be held here owing to efforts made by devout Hindus like Shri. Radhakrushnan and Shri. Tyagarajan; although HJS has not been active in this region.

  1. Shri. Radhakrushnan had taken active part in planning for Hindu Convention held at Chennai on 22nd February; then he expressed wish to hold similar convention at his native place in Kanyakumari district and took all the responsibility of organizing this Convention. He invited many pro-Hindu activists for this Convention who are working at district and State levels.
  2. Tamil version of Sanatan’s book on ‘Conversion and purification of converts’ was released on this occasion at the hands of participating dignitaries.
  3. Sou. Ragini Premnath of HJS did compeering of the program that was inaugurated by Swamini Mata Parameshawri of ‘Sharada Mutt’. Shri. Radhakrushnan, Shri. Ramanan and Sou. Uma Ravichandran of HJS shared the dais.
  4. Shri. Vadkar Vijayan, a leader of Shiv Sena and renowned pro-Hindu activist from Kerala, ‘Hindu Makkal Munnani’s Shri. Radhakrushnan, all-India Hindu Mahasabha’s Shri. Kodambakkam, Tamil Nadu Vishwa Hindu Parishada’s Shri. Tangamuttu Krushnan, ‘Hindu Yuva Sanghatana’s Shri. Pala Santosh Kumar, ‘Yuva Sena Tamil Nadu’s Convener, Shri. Muralimohan, Hindu Dharma ‘Pracharak’ Shri. Johnson, ‘Hindu Satya Sena’s Shri. Ram Bhupati, former MLA, Shri. Rajendran, ‘Hindu Deshiya Congress’ Shri. Madhusudan Perumal, Sanatan Sanstha’s Shri. Prabhakaran; and Sou. Uma Ravichandran and Sou. Ragini Premnath of HJS gave guidance on various topics.

Highlights

  1. Devout Hindu, Shri. Tyagarajan bore the cost of hall, electricity charges and sound systems as also arrangements for food.
  2. Devout Hindus, about 200 in number, visited exhibition of ‘flex’ boards displayed at the venue on the subjects of Hindu Rashtra and Dharma-shikshan.
  3. A devout Hindu, Shri. Amruteshwaran (age- 65 yrs) came from Chennai i.e. 700 kms distance to attend the convention.
  4. Few pro-Hindu leaders taking part in the Convention said that HJS does not just preach  but also takes action and its example is book on conversions translated in Tamil which was released on the occasion.
