Sangli : Hindus staging demonstrating at Godoulia Chowk for their demand of immersion of Shri. Ganesh idols in River Ganga in Uttar Pradesh were brutally beaten up by police on 22nd September at 2.00 a.m. at night. In the cane-charge Swami Avimukteshwaranand, a disciple of Shankaracharya Swami Swarupanand Saraswati of Dwaraka-Peetha and Shri. Harendra Rai of ‘Sanatan Dharma Inter College’ were injured along with many students of Shri. VidyaMaha, so also few citizens. Two days back, march was taken out by Sadhus-Saints and once again there was ‘lathi-charge’; besides, false cases were filed against many Sadhus-Saints. It is Hindu-hatred of Akhilkesh Yadav’s government. The Central Home Minister should take him to task and immediately ask him to render apology to all Sadhus-Saints. Action should be taken against Uttar Pradesh police involved in cane-charging on Swami Avimukteshwaranand and students. A representation to the above effect was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to the District Collector Shri. Sanjay Singh Chavan which is addressed to the Central Home Minister.

Shiv Sena city-chief Shri. Mahendra Chandale, ‘Shri. Shiva-Pratishthan’s Shri. Sachin Pawar, Shri. Kalidas Haridas, Shri. Anup Haridas, Shri. Vinayak Shewale, Shri. Abhijit Mane, BJP’s Shri. Shrikant Shinde, Shri. Dattatreya Retharekar of HJS were present on the occasion. Shri. Kalidas Haridas said that direct action should be taken by the Government from where such crackers are prepared.

Other demands

  1. Malpractices taking place during celebration of Navaratri festival should be stopped by local administrations taking necessary steps.
  2. Stringent action be taken for prevention of denigration of Hindu Deities and great national leaders; taking place through crackers during Diwali.
