Sangli : ‘The concerns raised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) about immersion of Shri. Ganesh idols are right and Municipal Corporation will be given necessary instructions’, assured MLA Shri. Sudhir Gadgil of Sangli Legislative Constituency to activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). Sou. Madhura Tophakhane, Sou. Smita Mainkar and Shri. Shrikrushna Mali of ‘Shri. Petition submitted to Sangli Mayor, Dy. Mayor, Chairman of Standing Committee and municipal councilors !

Petitions were submitted to Mayor Shri. Vivek Kamble, Dy. Mayor Shri. Prashant Patil, Chairman of Standing Committee Shri. Sanjay Mendhe, demanding that drives like immersion of idols in artificial water tanks etc. should not be undertaken. Similar petition was submitted to municipal councilor Shri. Vishnu Mane, Shri. Balasaheb Gondhali and former MLA Shri. Sambhajirao Pawar. Municipal councilors assured that they agreed with the stand taken by HJS and would extend necessary help. Shri. Sanjay Mendhe said that he would bring together few festival committees so that HJS could explain the subject to them; but some people demand for ‘Kund’ to immerse their idols; therefore, such provision has to be made for them. (Demand for ‘Kund’ by organizations and people to immerse idols in ‘Kund’ is not in conformity with Dharmashastra; therefore, the elected representatives are not expected to support such demand; but rather show them the right path in their capacity as caretakers of people ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
