Appeal against the denigration of Shrikrushna and Arjun in a blog post

We at Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) have received several complaints from devout Hindus regarding the blog post ‘The Kitchens of Indraprashta’ which has a disrespectful image of the revered Hindu Deity Shrikrushna with Arjun, both drinking Coca-Cola. This blog post fabricates a fictional conversation between Shrikrushna and Arjun in a manner that tarnishes the way people perceive Shrikrushna and hurts the sentiments of Hindus. (Ref : http://www.maxdavinci.com/blog/laff-beta-laff/the-kitchens-of-indraprashta/ )

Upon reviewing the complaints, the HJS protest team wrote an appeal letter addressed to the author of the blog, Massimiliano da Vinci (maxdavinci) and requested him to remove the said blog post from his website immediately. The appeal letter also explained the denigrating references to Hindu Deity, Shrikrushna. The post is insulting to Hindus, as it is contrary to Shrikrushna and Arjun’s portrayal in the Hindus’ Holy epic, the Mahabharata. The conversation between Shrikrushna and Arjun in this post has vulgar comments with regards to the Pandavas and Draupadi. Similarly, Shrikrushna and Arjun drinking a Cola (beverage) trivialize them and the Mahabharata.

Please see below the denigrating image of Shrikrushna and Arjun drinking Cola. (The appeal letter explaining the denigration is published towards the end of this news report.) –

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) team has not received a response from maxdavinci. Consequently, HJS now requests all readers to appeal against this denigration of the revered Hindu Deity, Shrikrushna, peacefully and lawfully by writing an email requesting to remove this post from their blog ‘The Kitchens of Indraprashta’.

The two email addresses that the appeals can be sent to are : [email protected] or [email protected]

We are sending this letter to protest the denigrating post published on your blog. The post is offensive to Hindus, as it is contrary to Shrikrushna and Arjun’s portrayal in the Hindus’ Holy epic, Mahabharata. The conversation between Shrikrushna and Arjun in your post has lewd comments with regards to the Pandava and Draupadi. Similarly, showing Shrikrushna and Arjun, who are revered by Hindus, drinking Coke, trivialize them and the Mahabharata.

In light of this, we urge you to remove the denigrating post ‘The Kitchens of Indraprashta’ and to stop putting out such spiritually malicious blogs in the future, so as to prevent further hurting the sentiments of Hindus throughout the world.

We stress that our aim in bringing up these points is to educate and ensure that Hindu Deities and Hinduism gets accurately represented to society. Hinduism has been misrepresented at many levels. Though it is an ancient tradition, Hinduism has a lot to offer the modern world, and we want children and adults alike to be able to understand and study it without it being misrepresented. You can take one step towards ensuring that Shrikrushna and Hinduism are not misunderstood, by removing this denigrating post from your blog.

Sincerely,
