The accused Juber Khan, tried to forcefully take a girl to a secluded place, but she managed to escape; parents then decided to nab him

Parents of school girls studying in Vashi managed to catch a 24-year-old who had been allegedly molesting their daughters for some time. The accused would stand outside the school and molest the girls when they came out.

According to the Vashi police, the accused, identified as Juber Khan, a cobbler, would approach the girls under the pretext of offering them chocolates and tell them to come with him. He even tried to take a girl forcefully once, but she bit his hands to escape his clutches.

An officer from Vashi police station said, “After the school got over, Khan would pretend to be on his phone, and would come close to the girls. He would try to lure them on the pretext of giving them chocolates. But the girls refused, and last Monday, he tried to forcefully take a girl to a secluded place. She bit him and managed to escape.”

The girl went home and told her parents about the harrowing incident. They discussed the issue with other parents and started accompanying their girls to and from the school. A parent of a girl studying in the Vashi school said, “After the incident, we started dropping our child to school and he stopped coming near the premises.

So on Monday, we decided to stay close by, instead, and gave a mobile phone to a girl. We told her to call us as soon as she saw Khan. After school, the child saw him near the school and called us. We immediately reached the spot and caught him.”

A few parents have alleged that Khan has also touched some girls in an inappropriate manner. He was handed over to the Vashi police and cops learnt that he has another case of molestation against him. Police inspector Suraj Padvi, from Vashi police station, said, “We have registered the case against Khan under Section 354A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code and will investigate the case thoroughly.”
