Forum for Hindu Awakening is a nonprofit organization that strives to awaken society to the unique spiritual science behind Hindu Dharma concepts and practices, to motivate people to live and preserve them, and to facilitate the spiritual progress of humanity. One of the ways we do this is by addressing misrepresentations of Hinduism.

According to spiritual science, every object or principle is associated with its specific sound, word, touch, form, taste, fragrance and energy. Whenever any image of a Deity or a divine symbol like Om is used, the divine energy also accompanies it. It helps the devotee to obtain the divine or spiritual energy from it. When Hindu Deities and symbols are used on items like chocolates and its wrappers, after eating the chocolates their wrappers get thrown around and eventually turn up in the waste bin. Chewing and eating the chocolates shaped like deities or having imprints of deities on them, results in them being broken and mashed by the teeth. Also there is contact with saliva in the mouth which amounts to spitting on them. This amounts to disrespect and denigration of revered Deities/religious symbols, which is hurtful to the religious sentiments of Hindus and insults Hinduism.

Deities’ images/religious symbols should be used only in sacred places like temples and that too only for the purpose of worshiping them, and not on edible things. We feel that manufacturers use Hindu Deities’ images & Hindu Religious symbols to increase sales, but actually it is denigration.

In view of the above we request you to stop this blatant denigration and stop the manufacture, advertisement and sale of chocolates with pictures of Hindu deities and symbols.

Awaiting your prompt action and reply.

Sincerely,
Forum for Hindu Awakening
