Goa : HJS hands over activists of ‘Believers’ Sect to police for distributing copies of Bible

bibleDicholi (Goa), 9th January – The activists of ‘Believers’ Sect were found distributing copies of Bible as new year’s gift to employees of Mamledar’s Office in Dicholi, Goa during office hours; keeping citizens waiting who had gone there for work at the concerned office. This shocking incident was brought to light on 7th January.  (Do Hindus propagate their Holy Scriptures in this manner ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) On the occasion of Republic Day, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been creating awareness amongst people for prevention of abuse of national flag and they had gone to Mamledar’s office in this context for submitting representation. It was then observed that distribution of Bible copies was going on there. Shri. Prashant Chanekar and Shri. Dilip Mangaonkar of HJS lodged a complaint with Dicholi police station. Dicholi police called the group of ‘Believers’ and took them to task. Police asked Believer’s group to give in writing that they would not go to any office during office hours and create obstacles in work. Only after such written statement from them, did police allow them to go. The group of ‘believers’ comprised of one foreign national and 4 local persons.

The news in detail —

  1. Shri. Prashant Chanekar of HJS from Dicholi had gone to Mamledar’s office on 7th January 2015 at 11.00 a.m. for submitting a representation under HJS drive for prevention of abuse of national flag.
  2. Shri. Chanekar realized that some of the employees were not in their seats and few citizens were standing there; waiting for concerned employees to come back so as to attend to their matter.
  3. Shri. Chanekar realized that few employees were busy listening to lecture given by members of ‘Believers’ and one of them, who was a foreign national, went straight to cabin of administrative officer without taking permission and kept a copy of Bible on the table of that officer.
  4. Shri. Chanekar was quite shocked to observe the incident and he questioned the concerned administrative officer about the same. He asked that without taking necessary permission how could members of Believers enter office and was it right to distribute copies of Bible to employees during office hours, by keeping citizens waiting who have come to the office in connection with some work?
  5. Members of believers ran away as they realized that the atmosphere in Mamledar’s office was heating up; but Shri. Chanekar and other employees chased the group of Believers; catching them on the ground floor of Mamledar’s office.
  6. Shri. Prashant Chanekar firmly told the group of Believers, “It was illegal to go to Mamledar’s office during office hours and create obstacles in office work; now, you will have to come with me to police station.”
  7. The foreign national said that he was not scared of police but he ran away from the place along with his bag.
  8. Shri. Chanekar lodged complaint with Dicholi police; so police went to the place of incident and took 3 members of Believers group in custody.
  9. Shri. Prashant Chanekar requested police that the behavior of foreign national in Believer’s group was suspicious and he should also be called to police station.
  10. Then police brought the foreign national to police station. His passport was checked by Police Inspector (PI) Shri. Rupendra Shetgaonkar of Dicholi police station; the members of Believer’s group were asked to give in writing that they would not create obstacles in working of offices by going there during office hours. Only after that, they were allowed to go.  (Congratulations to PI Shri. Rupesh Shetgaonkar of Dicholi police station for taking prompt note of the complaint and take action ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

HJS demands – “Take action against those causing obstacles in office work by distributing copies of Bible during office hours !”

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has demanded in its Press Release that action should be taken against members of Believers for distributing copies of Bible during office hours; keeping ordinary citizens waiting in office and keeping employees of office engaged in propagation of Bible. It should be found out as to who granted permission to group of ‘Believers’ for propagation of a certain religion in Government office when policy of secularism is followed in the country. Members of Believers group had earlier gone to Goa Medical College for propagation of their Sect taking advantage of ailing patients; they had openly propagated their religion and even converted Hindus. Such incidents have been brought forth on number of occasions. The State Government, however, did nothing despite lodging complaints; therefore, the Believers group has now targeted government offices in Goa. The Government should take necessary steps to avoid recurring of such incidents either in Government offices or medical college; taking action against the guilty. A complaint will be lodged by HJS with senior officers if no action was taken in this case, informed Dr. Manoj Solanki, the State Coordinator of HJS.
