Chennai : Vengeance of Christian Engineer; Temple demolished – Hindus protest

On 23.12.2014 the Asst. Engineer of the Corporation of Madras, Mr. Lawrence gave orders to demolish the Angala Parameshwari temple in Muthialpet without any prior notice. Also, that area has many flags of different political and religious parties, however, only the flags of Shiv Sena were taken down.

Bishop Corrie Higher Secondary School was found to have usurped a part of a road. The Shivsena gave a petition against the school to the Corporation. The general public feel that Mr. Lawrence’s decision was to exact revenge for this complaint.

After the temple was demolished, around 200 Shivsainiks staged a ‘Dharna’ outside the Corporation 5th sector office today and placed the following demands :-

1. Mr.Lawrence should be dismissed from his post for his unauthorized acts.

2. Proper action should be taken against Bishop Corrie Higher Secondary School authorities for having usurped the road.

3. The demolished temple of Angala Parameshwari should be immediately rebuilt with the religious sentiments of the general public in mind.

This protest was headed by Shri. Radhakrishnan, the State President of Shivsena along with Shri. Balaji Raman, the district General secretary, Shri. Venugopal, the district head of North Madras and other Shivsainiks.
