Bangladesh : 11 year old Hindu girl raped and abducted by Jihadis

Bangladesh Minority Watch (BDMW) acted on an appeal submitted by Parimal Chandra Mitra & Ms. Radha Rani Mitra to rescue their minor daughter from the clutches of jihadi fanatics. The minor Hindu girl (11 years) was studying Class V and was a brilliant student in her school.The victim was abducted on 29th July 2014 by Mohammad Ohidul Mridha. Parents of the victim girl lodged first information report (FIR) against those perpetrators at Gournadi Police station on 29.07.2014

BDMW communicated with local administration including Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police-Barisal for taking steps to rescue the victim girl from illegal possession of the perpetrators. Sub Inspector of Police had been given responsibility to trace out the victim and to arrest those perpetrators. The location where the victim as well the perpetrators was absconding to was located on the basis of the perpetrators' mobile phones. With the help of Officer in Charge of Ashugonj Police station the police rescued the victim girl on 21st August 2014 from there, but the perpetrators were alerted and fled away before arrest. Police, after rescue produced the victim girl before the Court of Judicial Magistrate at Barisal and the court granted the girl to be released to her parents after taking statements of the victim. The victim elaborately described the ordeal how she was raped on 20th June 2014 and subsequently how she was abducted on 29th July 2014 by the perpetrators.

The victim girl specifically mentioned the names of the perpetrators she also mentioned that she was forcefully raped by perpetrator No.1 Mohammad Ohidul Mridha and other two perpetrators guarded her, collaborating to commit such crime. From the statements of victim,it was learnt that on 20th June 2014 at about 13.15 hours while her parents were away, Mohammad Ohidul Mridha forcibily  entered the house; while two others guarded the house and forcefully raped her and fled away. The victim was traumatized, but she was threatened not to disclose the names of the perpetrators. But it is unfortunate that father and mother was threatened not to lodge any first information report (FIR) regarding the rape scenario.

Second event of kidnapping by the same group of jihadis took place on 29th July 2014 8.30 a.m. while the victim girl was going towards her school; 7 to 8 Jihadis waylaid her and took her forcefully into the motor vehicle and fled away towards unknown destination.

She was kidnapped on 29th July 2014 and recovered on 21st August 2014 by police.
