Establish Censor Board for dramas and tiatr in Goa – HJS

Panaji (Goa) – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, through a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister of Goa on 25th August demanded that a censor board should be established for the dramas and tiatr (The dramas performed mainly in the Roman Konkani dialects and include music, dancing and singing) in order to maintain communal harmony and peace in Goa. The demand is raised by HJS on the background of performance of tiatr ''Akantvadi Goeant Naka' (Goa doesn't need terrorists) and the demand made by an institution 'Ravindra Bhavan' that the politicians should not be criticised through the medium of drama or tiatr.

Memorandum further states that presently, obscene and controversial topics are depicted through dramas and tiatr just to earn money and publicity. Responsibility not to allow misuse of the right for freedom of expressions lies with the Government. A censor board for dramas before they are staged exists in Maharashtra; a similar arrangement can also be made in Goa, says HJS.

Complaint registered in Margao Police Station against Tausif Sheikh producing a tiyatra ‘Akantawadi Goyant Naka’ hurting Hindu sentiments

Why a complaint has to be registered when Hindu sentiments are hurt ? Why is the Government which is so sensitive with respect to fanatics, does not take any action, whatsoever, concerning Hindus’ issues ?

Panaji (Goa) – Tausif Sheikh de Navelim, a tiyatrist has vilified Hindu Dharma and Hindu culture by producing the tiyatra, ‘Akantawadi Goyant Naka’ with a malicious intent. The play was staged in Margao on 9^th August 2014 with an intention to hurt Hindu sentiments. Hence on 13^th August 2014, Mr. Devidas Gaokar, a devout citizen has registered a complaint in Margao Police Station against Tausif for hurting Hindu Sentiments. A demand has been made in the complaint stating that, Tausif Sheikh should be prosecuted under sections 153 A. 153 B and 298 for hurting religious sentiments.

Tausif Sheikh has written and directed the tiyatra ‘‘Akantawadi Goyant Naka’. This tiyatra was being objected before the presentation by a Hindu organisation, Sriram Sene. Despite the opposition, Tausif Sheikh presented the play in police protection. Mr. Gaokar has stated in the complaint that, many of the viewers seeing the play are of the opinion that, said tiyatra was against Hindu Dharma and Hindu faith. The main villain in this play is named as Pundalik, thereby denigrating Shri Vishnu through name. His attire is like that of a Hindu Guru. There is a tilak on his forehead like a Hindu sage and a rosary in his hand. In order to create a rift between the 2 communities, Tausif who loves Arabian language has deliberately written this play with a malicious purpose. It is essential to find out Tausif's malicious intention and conspiracy in writing this tiyatra. A Muslim person like Tausif has vilified Hindu Dharma and Hindu culture. Law and order situation is likely all over Goa due to this tiyatra.

Christian’s ‘Tri- Act’ a Conspiracy to defame all Hindutvawadis alongwith Shri Ram Sena

• Hindus get united now at least to counter conspiracy against Hindutvawadis

We can understand that the tiyatra (Play) ‘Akantawadi Goyant Naka’ (Terrorists have no place in Goa) produced by Tousif Sheikh, a Muslim from Naveli is not only against Sriram Sene, but also against Hindutvawadi organisations all over the country. Police have taken video shooting of this play.

The story of the tiyatra –

1.    A leader (Pundalik Guru) of a Hindutvawadi organization is shown coming to Goa. He is a villain in this tiyatra. This leader is shown busy along with 2 colleagues in dividing Christians, Muslims and Hindus.

2.    They are trying to bring a Hindu Rashtra banning bikini and pubs.

3.    There are scenes like Pundalik Guru keeping a bomb on a carnival day and destroying a cross of Christians on the Independence day. (In fact all the bomb blasts till today were being masterminded by Muslims only ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

4.    A young daughter of a Hindu called Damu is in love with a Christian youth (Ryan); but Damu does not like it. Hence he goes to meet Pundalik Guru.

5.    That time Pundalike Guru poisons Damu’s mind with communal hatred and gives a sword in his hand. Guru’s colleagues rape this girl in love with Ryan and put the blame on Ryan for which 2 Hindu youth kill Ryan.

6.     Shri Ganapati appears in a vision before one of the youths killing Ryan and both the killers are shown pardoning.

7.    Damu alleges his neighbours (Peter and Ali) for his daughter’s predicament saying that Christians convert Hindus, they eat beef etc. Realising that Damu was behaving under the influence of somebody, Peter and Ali help Damu till the end with great understanding. (Here they want to convey that Hindus attack and Christians and Muslims are understanding. –  Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

8.    Finally in the story, the real rapists are arrested by police and Pundalik Guru’s conspiracy to divide the communities is exposed.

9.    In the end, a secular MLA, the chief interlocutor in the play, gives a message not to be the victims of the so called Guruji’s divisive plans. Sudin Dhavlikar, Manohar Parrikar, Mavin Gudinho, Churchill Alemao are being criticised sarcastically through the kantaran (songs) in the tiyatra; whereas the independent MLA Vijay Sardessi and Congress MLA Alex Lawrence Reginald are shown as heroes for supporting Christians.

No connection of the characters in the tiyatra to Sriram Sene’s Pramod Mutalik – Statement by knave Tousif Sheikh !

Tousif Sheikh has made a knavish remark that none of the characters has any connection to Sriram Sene’s Pramod Mutalik. In an interview given to Navhind Times, Tousif Shekh said, nowhere in the play Pramod Mutalik’s name is uttered. Besides before commencing the play we had announced that the characters in the play are in no way connected to anybody. (Although the announcement is given, anyone can vouch saying that the dialogs of the characters are like those of Hindutvawadi leaders only ! Why not a ‘Tiyatra (Play)’ written on real terrorists ? – Pramod Mutalik

While speaking to media of the tiyatra, ‘Akantwadi Goyant Naka’, Mr. Pramod Mutalik of Sriram Sena raised questions like, Why the writer of the tiyatra did not find others name except mine ? Why Tiyatra based on terrorists was not written ?

Mr. Mutalik said that, the opposition to the tiyatra by my workers is quite appropriate. I myself and my workers are upset over this tiyatra and that is why we are opposing the tiyatra.

Goa police, pressurising the representative of Sanatan Sanstha telling the same point  repeatedly and trying to demoralise Sanatan by threatening of taking action !

On 8th August, South Goa Police Personnel called Dr. Manoj Solanki on a mobile phone to inquire about the tiyatra ‘Akantwadi Goyant Naka’. The conversation at that time is given ahead.

Police Personnel : I want the information about what you intend doing tomorrow .

Dr. Solanki : You can contact them (Sri Sene) directly. They can tell you about their plans. They are waiting for the Court’s verdict.

Police Personnel : We do not want law and order situation created. If you are going to bring the Court’s order then ok. Or else we will take action.

Dr. Solanki : They are acting as per law.

Police Personnel : Court is there; but you know what can happen. Unnecessary obstacles are created. You will have to bear the brunt. If you are following the legal procedure then fine. That is a good solution. If you happen to take to street then it will be a question of law and order. We will not tolerate it. Total responsibility will lie on the Sanstha.

Dr. Solanki : They (Officials of Sriram Sene) have met you. They are following legal procedure. This whole issue is being explained. I do not know their future strategy.

Police Personnel :  If you take to street then there will be a question of law and order. We do not want it.

Dr. Solanki : You must have discussed about it with them. What decision they are going to take, I have no idea.

Police Personnel : If you take to come on  the street then we will have to act. Tiyatra will be staged and you will keep on fighting on the road unnecessarily.

Dr. Solanki : What has happened finally ? Will the tiyatra be staged ?

Police Personnel : Tiyatra will be staged as per the law. Only the Court can ban it.
If you bring the Court order then we will show it to the organisers. Whatever you do will go against you by law.  We do not want that they (Sriram Sene’s workers) would come and stop the play, because police will be there.

Dr. Solanki : I am not the representative of Sriram Sene. What can I tell about their strategy ? Better you talk to them. Sanatan Sanstha was being criticised hence I had gone there to explain about it.

(While making inquiries the police Personnel was telling repeatedly that ‘Do not create law and order situation’. In fact the whole issue was related to Sriram Sene, yet the representative of Sanatan Sanstha was repeatedly asked whether they were going to act coming on the street ? Repeated threats were given saying if there is any law and order situation then we will take action. Sanatan Sanstha has not undertaken any campaign till today that will cause law and order situation. On the contrary it has assisted police in forming lines of devotees in temples to avoid commotion during religious festivals, arranging their foot wear properly, etc. Yet the police use language of threats before the representative of Sanatan Sanstha like taking action against the sanstha if any law and order situation arose. After reading this conversation one has a question, ‘Will the police have to be given training in ‘With whom to talk regarding points concerning which organisation ? Complaint registered at Hubli on behalf of Sriram Sena against the Artists, the Producer and the Director of the tiyatra, ‘Akantawadi Goyant Naka’

A complaint has been registered with police at Hubli on 9th August against the Producer – Director Tousif Sheikh and the artists in the tiyatra ‘Akantawadi Goyant Naka’ for criticizing Mr. Pramod Mutalik, the president of Sriram Sena and thoughts concerning Hindutva. A demand has been made in this complaint to arrest the Producer, Director and the artists in the tiyatra for tarnishing the image of Sriram Sena. Chief of Sriram Sena of Hubli – Dharwad Mr. Raghavendra Katare has registered the complaint in the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police here.

It is stated in the complaint that Mr. Pramod Mutalik is a staunch Nationalist leader who engages himself in creating patriotism among youth. He is also working towards stopping cow-slaughter and protecting the culture. Since Mr. Mutalik is going to establish a branch of Sriram Sena in Goa, Christian missionaries in Goa and liquor-mafias also drug-mafias are worried, That is why Mr.  Mutalik’s name is being tarnished. The complaint has been registered on the basis of the advertisements of the tiyatra on the face book and social media, so also the advertisements of the tiyatra pasted on the protecting walls of the churches in Hubli and Dharwad.

Impose ban on ‘Tri-Act’ titled ‘Akantvaad Goyant Naakaa’ !

Margao – Shri. Pramod Mutalik, President of Sriram Sena and Hindu Dharma have been criticised in Tiatr (Tiatr is a type of musical theatre popular in the state of Goa on the west coast of India as well as in Mumbai and with expatriate communities in the Middle East, London and other cities where Konkani speakers have a considerable presence. The dramas are performed in the Konkani language and includes music, dancing and singing. Tiatr performers are called tiatrists.) written, produced and directed by Tausif de Navelim (alias Tausif Sheikh). There is no control of Censor Board or similar Government organization on such plays; therefore, the play has taken liberty of creating communal rift amongst people. This Tiatr is against freedom of people to lead their life as they want; besides it will disturb peace in society. It will, therefore, be inappropriate to allow staging show of such play on 9th August from the viewpoint of its illegality and preservation of social harmony.

The Government should immediately look into the matter, cancel the show of above Tiatr and arrest Tausif Sheikh. This was the demand made by Shri. Gangadhar Kulkarni, the Coordinator of ‘Sriram Sena’ for Karnataka while addressing a press conference held at Lingayat Mutt, Pajifond, Margao on 7th August. Dr. Manoj Solanki of Sanatan Sanstha also attended the press conference.

Shri. Gangadhar Kulkarni said further that it was observed from the boards advertising this Tiatr, ‘Akantvaad Goyant Naka’ that Shri. Pramod Mutalik has been shown as a terrorist. Shri. Mutalik has not committed any crime that anyone can call him a terrorist and this Tiatr is defaming him. Shri. Mutalik has, therefore, issued a legal notice through his advocate to the President of ‘Gomant Vidya Niketan’ and the concerned people for making available their hall for staging shows of this Tiatr. Goa Government should realize the seriousness of the matter and impose ban on this Tiatr. Still, if this Tiatr is staged and any untoward incident occurs, Margao District Administration and BJP Government would be responsible for it. Sriram Sena had helped police to find out terrorists hidden in some houses. How can such an organization be a terrorist organization ?

Dr. Manoj Solanki of Sanatan Sanstha said while answering a query whether Sanatan Sanstha and Sriram Sena members have threatened the producer of the said Tiatr, “The two numbers through which it is claimed that threatening calls were made, do not belong to any member of either Sanatan Sanstha or Sriram Sena. Also, latest technology is available to find out the callers; therefore, nobody should make baseless allegations.” To a question why Sanatan Sanstha extended support to Sriram Sena, Dr. Solanki said, “Sanatan Sanstha supports Sriram Sena in the context of the above mentioned Tiatr. The producers of this Tiatr do not seem to have understood the definition of a terrorist. Has Shri. Pramod Mutalik ever been involved in any anti-national act ? It is wrong to call him a terrorist and it amounts to character assassination.”

Margao (Goa) : Tausif de Navelim, Tiatr writer  has written a Tiatrtitled ‘Akantvaad Goyant Naka (such a terrorist is not wanted in Goa)’ against Shri. Pramod Mutalik, te Founder of Sriram Sena and a staunch Hindutvavadi who strives hard for protection of Hindu culture. Shri. Pramod Mutalik has been criticized in the said Tiatr.
