Mandir Committee adorns Shri Vitthal idol with only 9 ornaments !

Chaitra Shuklapaksha 4, Kaliyug Varsha 5116

  • Effect of Sri Vitthal Mandir taken over by Government !

  • Hindus should realize that today, the number of ornaments has been reduced; but one day, this anti-Hindu Government will refuse to adorn the idol with even one ornament. Hindus should, therefore, raise voice with unity against the same now !

Pandharpur (Maharashtra) : ‘Gudhi Padva’ is an important festival of Hindus and on this day, the idols of Sri Vitthal – Rakhumai are adorned with nice clothes and gold and pearl ornaments. The tradition of adorning idols is being followed for hundreds of years; but the tradition was broken due to apathy of Mandir Committee.  Adorning the idols with few ornaments on the New Year day of Hindus, is in a way against Dharma. (Sri Vitthal – Rakhumai are revered by Hindus; still their traditions are broken. Over-tolerance of Hindus is working in favor of the present pro-Muslim Government ! Hindus should demand stringent action against those responsible for breaking the tradition ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

  1. Sri Vitthal idol is beautifully adorned with  nice clothes and ornaments of gold, pearl etc. on special festivals like ‘Padva’ in ‘Diwali’, ‘Gudhi Padva’ and ‘Navaratri’. There are more than 500 ornaments made for  Sri Vitthal. Earlier, priests used to take those ornaments from Mandir Committee for adorning the idols.
  2. It was, however, observed that on the occasion of ‘Gudhi Padva’, only 8-9 ornaments were there on the idol. Many devotees expressed grief over apathy of management of Mandir Committee and the Government.
