Ashwin Krushnapaksha 9, Kaliyug Varsha 5115

Appeal to devout Hindus

A company named ‘Choc of the town’ has come a with a product ‘Lakshmi crackers chocolate’, in which they have produced chocolates in the shape of Lakshmi firecrackers. These chocolates are wrapped with the material on which picture of Shri Lakshmi mata is printed. These wrappers will be teared or they may be thrown in dustbin, while eating chocolates, leading to an insult and denigration of Shri Lakshmi. Also using deities for such type of commercial gain is itself an insult to the deities. Now it is duty of devout Hindus to protest lawfully against ‘Choc of thetown’ so that they should withdraw the said product completely and they should also tender unconditional apology to Hindus for hurting our religious sentiments. Also Hindus should boycott all products of ‘Choc of the town’ until they withdraw the product and apologise.

Devout Hindus can also send their lawful protests to concerned authorities through Comments Section.

Dear Sirs,

Subject : Request to stop denigration of Hindu Deities through your products/chocolates with pictures of Shri Laxmi.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) is an NGO engaged in the task of Imparting spiritual knowledge to the society, protection of the Nation, education about religion and awakening of Dharma since the last 10 years.

There is practice of celebrating festivals like Deepavali, Dussehra etc. by bursting firecrackers. These festivals are based on religious principles. As per Hindu religion we should worship and obtain blessings of Deities by celebrating the festivals as per the scriptures e.g. by worshipping Laxmi during Deepavali. However it is observed that you have taken advantage of these sentiments by selling your products so as to make money as well as purposely hurt feelings of Hindus.

It is understood that are pictures of Deity Laxmi on your chocolates (shaped as firecrackers) as seen in the link : http://www.chocofthetown.com/Products/Seasons-Greetings-Diwali/Choc-Of-The-Town/Lakshmi-Cracker-Chocolate-Box/pid-4231225.aspx

While eating the chocolates the pictures of Deities are cut and crushed into pieces, and people will eat them as if it is meat. This is gross denigration of our Deities. This is hurting religious feeling of Hindus which is an offence as per the Indian Constitution. Further as per Indian TRADE MARKS ACT, 1999 [Act No. 47 of Year 1999 dated 30th. December, 1999] section 9, 2 (b) one can not use symbols on the product which will hurt religious sentiments.

Further we have also noticed that you have intentionally manufactured these chocolates with mala fide intentions and against the regulation of FDA, Government of India. The reason is best known to you. Hindus have resigned themselves to tolerating denigration, however Muslims and Christians will immediately take action against such denigrations.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is an NGO doing social, religious and Nation building work. For details please refer our website www.hindujagruti.org where we have successfully campaigned against crackers having pictures of Hindu deities.

In view of above we earnestly request you to stop the production and distribution and advertisements, tender an unconditional apology. Your early reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanking You,

Yours truly,
Shivaji Vatkar
