Hindu group wants screening of 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ withheld in Goa

July 8, 2012

Right wing organisation Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has asked the state government to withhold screening of the Bollywood movie 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' in Goa.

HJS state convener Manoj Solanki says that the movie features a song, which hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus. The organisation has raised objection regarding the words in one of the songs of the movie, 'Havan Kund, Mastoka Jhund, Havan Karenge.'

The demand to remove this controversial song was also made during demonstrations held in Panaji on Sunday.

"HJS demanded cancellation of the certificate issued to this film or keeping in abeyance its release till the controversial song is not removed from it," Solanki said.

HJS has also appealed to all theatre-owners, through memorandums, to boycott the film and not screen it in theatres.

The movie is slated for nationwide release on July 12.
