Mumbai : According to Shivaji Nagar police officers, the incident took place on Sunday morning after the girl came to the shop of Abdul Jakatia Usmana — the accused — in Mhada colony to take a mobile recharge coupon.

“The 11-year-old girl went to the shop to get a mobile recharge coupon,” said an officer from Shivaji Nagar police station. “The accused provided her with the recharge, but as she was about to leave, he asked the girl to come with him in a room inside where he was already watching the porn film.” When she went into the room, the accused asked her to see the film. When the girl saw the obscenity, she ran away and informed her father about the whole episode.

 “The father registered a complaint with the Shivaji Nagar police station immediately,” the officer said and added, “A police team was dispatched and Usmana was arrested from his shop.”

The police officials seized the hard disk of the computer, on which the film was screened. Many such films have been found on the disk.

The accused has been booked under sections 292 (Sale, etc., of obscene books) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and has been remanded in police custody.
