Panvel (Maharashtra) : Warkari Sampradaya and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) staged agitations by ‘ringing of bells’ at Shivaji Chowk to protest against the proposed anti-superstitions Act. More than 60 devout Hindus took part in the agitation.

Shri. Gharat of ‘Swami Samartha Sampradaya’; Shri. Motilal Jain of Jain Sampradaya from Panvel; H.B.P. Bapu Maharaj Raokar, the President of  ‘Rashtreeya Warkari Sena’ for Konkan region; Shri. Nathuram Tatakare of ‘Bharat  Swabhiman’; Shri. Mangesh Bhoir of Shiv Sena and Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, the District -coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad were present on the occasion.

H.B.P. Bapu Maharaj Raokar said, “From Dnyaneshwar Maharaj to Tukaram Maharaj, every Saint has performed some miracles. Tukaram Maharaj pulled out ‘Abhang’ drowned in River Indrayani. Swami Samartha also showed many miracles; therefore, devotees bow before them. The goal of Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANS) is to turn people to atheism. Hindus should unite to teach a lesson to such inflexible persons.”

Shri. Gharat said, “Those, who know spiritual science, need to unite. All such people should devote time for matters related to Dharma; only then can we survive as Hindus in the coming period of crisis. This Act should be opposed. Shri. Shivaji Vatkar said, “ANiS wants to eliminate Hindu Dharma and culture through such Act; but unity amongst Warkaris has foiled its plans. If Hindus maintain unity, such anti-Dharma Acts will not be passed and if such Act is passed, the Government will have to face its serious consequences. Congress will have to give up power.”

Mrs. Nandini Surve, Shri. Milind Poshe and Shri. Pavaskar also expressed their views on this occasion. The participants raised slogans against the Government and ANS. Signature drive was undertaken by HJS to protest against the said Act.
