Success of Sriram Sene and HJS’ efforts

Belgaum (Karnataka) : It came to the notice of activists of Sriram Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) that crackers with pictures of Deities were being sold on the stalls put up on the occasion of Diwali on the grounds of Sardar High School. They informed the matter to police and police took action against such sellers, confiscating their stock of crackers. (All Hindus should become aware and unite against desecration of Deities taking place through the medium of crackers. This will help them to acquire God’s grace ! – Editor SP)

HJS and Sriram Sene had earlier submitted a representation to the District Police Chief for imposing ban on sale of crackers with pictures of Deities. It was, however, observed that such crackers were still on sale. The activists also learnt that such types of crackers were sent for sale to Kolhapur from Belgaum.

Sriram Sene’s 15 activists, including Mr. Anil Kurankar, Mr. Balu Pawar, Mr. Ravi Kokitkar and Mr. Maruti Lohar and Mr. Sudhir Herekar of HJS immediately got together and asked the sellers to separate crackers with picture of Shri Lakshmi Devi and they thoroughly checked the stalls in front of the police. All crackers with Shri Lakshmi’s picture were collected and immersed in a lake at Kapileshwar thus stopping ‘Dharma-haani (harm caused to Dharma)’. Activists of Sriram Sene explained to the vendors as to how desecration of Deities takes place due to such crackers and importance of preventing ‘Dharma-haani’.

After this incident, few activists of Sriram Sena and Mr. Herekar of HJS forced the police to confiscate all crackers with pictures of Shri Lakshmi being sold near Shahapur Police Station.
