Panaji (Goa) : Padmabhushan, the third highest award for civilians in India has been conferred upon Dr. Jose Pereira, a Goan, living in America who is Professor, Writer and a Painter, by the Government of Bharat for his contribution in the field of literature and education. Dr. Jose Pereira had organised an exhibition of his paintings months ago which included some nude and obnoxious paintings of Hindu Deities like Bhagwan Krushna, Shiv etc. and Hindus had protested against it very severely then. Despite this, since the prestigious award like Padmabhushan has been announced in the name of Dr. Jose Pereira, devout Hindus protest against the Government for that. (This is a living example, on the part of the Government, of showing disregard for Hindu’s sentiments by conferring such a prestigious award to Dr. Pereira who had trampled upon Hindu sentiments by painting denigrating pictures of Hindu Deities. O, Hindus, think for yourself that, if such a thing were to happen in the case of Muslims or Christians, what would have happened, and force the Government to respect your sentiments also ! – Editor SP)

The award has been announced for a non-resident Bharatiya. President of Bharat , Dr. Pratibha Devising Patil is going to present the award in a programme to be held in the last week of March or beginning of April at Rashtrapati bhavan at Delhi. Padmabhushan, the third highest award follows Bharatratna and Padmavibhushan awards. This award which has been conferred upon 27 persons including Shabana Azmi was announced on the occasion of the Republic Day.

Dangerous tradition of the secular Congress Government to honour the anti-Hindus

Anti-Hindu painter M.F. Husain was awarded Padmabhushan in 1973 and Padmavibhushan in 1991. He was also selected as Rajyasabha MP in 1986. (O, people, Congress Government is not interested in awarding the Hindus who yearn to work for the Nation and Dharma; but it is interested in persons like Jose Pereira who disregard the Hindu sentiments, Shabana Azmi, who always speak in favour of the anti-National Muslims. – Editor SP)

Reaction of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti reagarding ‘Padmabhushan’ award to be conferred upon Dr. Jose Pereira

Panaji (Goa) : Christian painter, Dr. Jose Pereira had put up denigrating and vulgar pictures of Hindu Deities viz. Shri Ram, Shri Sita, Shri Kalimata, Yamadevta, Shri Laxman etc. in an exhibition held at Xavier Institute of Historical Research at Porvorim. When Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) along with other likeminded organisations had agitated against it, it was cancelled. The pictures painted by Dr. Pereira were hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. It has become an everyday feature for Hindus to come to roads in the protest of such exhibitions which denigrate Hindu Deities. Despite the continuous demand with the Government to ban such denigrating pictures of Deities and their exhibition, no heed has been given by the Government. To honour by conferring awards like Padmabhushan upon the anti-Dharma painters instead of taking stern action against them shows their disrespect to Hindu feelings. This is like rubbing salt on the injuries. HJS reacted in a press note stating that, it is the need of the hour that Hindus should unite and oppose it.
