O Hindus, let us pay gratitude towards God for this success !

Mumbai: An exhibition and sale of Hindu-hater and anti-national painter M F Husain was organized by ‘Suchitra Art Gallery’ on Hill Road. The sale was, however, stopped due to opposition by many devout Hindus along with Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS).

At ‘Suchitra Art Gallery’ on Hill Road and on its website, exhibition and sale of anti-Hindu M F Husain’s paintings has been organized. Information of the same was sent by a devout Hindu to Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the Mumbai district coordinator of HJS. It was decided to oppose such sale by HJS and Mrs. Varsha Thakar of HJS called up Mr. Gautam Khatri of the said Art Gallery. She called up Mr. Khatri and told him that all Hindus were against sale of Husain’s paintings when Mr. Khatri told her that they did not have Husain’s paintings but it was planned to sell the paintings ‘on line’. He then said to her that considering the religious sentiments, sale would be cancelled. HJS members checked the website of the Art Gallery and found that Husain’s paintings were withdrawn from sale.

Conversation between Mrs. Varsha Thakar, HJS and Mr. Khatri, Suchitra Art Gallery

Mrs. Varsha Thakar: We have received information that you are going to sell paintings of Husain. Please do not do any such thing because Hindus will not tolerate it. Have you seen the paintings? Those have been drawn with the intention of insulting and have hurt sentiments of Hindus. We are not opposing just for the sake of opposition; but it is a serious matter. Everyone should respect each other’s religious sentiments.

Mr. Gautan Khatri: We do not have paintings but we were planning to sell them ‘on line’; but now we won’t do so. We respect your sentiments.

Mrs. Varsha Thakar: I am going to load our conversation on our website; therefore, do not try to go back on your word; else you will have to face people’s fury.

Mr. Gautan Khatri: No, I will do no such thing; you can put our conversation on the website.

Mrs. Varsha Thakar:  Thanks, God helped you to see good sense. If, however, you still sold the pictures, we would come to know; therefore, do not try to do such thing.

Mr. Gautan Khatri: No. I will not sell Husain’s paintings.
