Idol of Lord Krishna dressed in jeans and Tee-shirt at Vrundavan

Mathura: The priests at the famous Banke-Bihari temple dressed Lord Krishna idol in jeans and tee shirt. Devotees have thronged the temple in large numbers to participate in the ongoing ‘Anandotsava’. They are annoyed with the way Lord Krishna has been dressed up. Repercussions of the incident are felt all over the world. Everyone including the mass media is condemning such act.

At Vrundavan, Lord Krishna is worshipped in the form of a child. It is a practice in the temple to deck up the idol in different ways. On 14th September, the priests dressed up the idol in jeans and tee shirt. Instead of a flute, a cell phone in His hand, gold chain around His neck and a bracelet and a wristwatch on His wrists was how Lord Krishna was adorned. The adornment is getting humanized day by day. As per the wishes of devotees, the idol is being dressed in various types of clothes. The idol wore a designer dress on the day of Krishnashtami, which cost about Rs. 2.50 lacks.
